Neillsville Locals (1 June 1967)
Mrs. Paul Blum has
returned to Neillsville after spending the winter in Chicago, Ill., with her
daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hoebling.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carl
left early Thursday for Monroe where they were Thursday overnight guests of mr.
and Mrs. E. T. Nelson, former neighbors in the Town of Washburn, and also
visited Mr. and Mrs. Art Nikolay. Friday afternoon they left for Oregon, where
they were overnight guests Friday and Saturday at the Paul L. Damson home.
Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Carl attended the wedding of their son, Brice E.
Carl, to Connie L. Damson in the First Presbyterian Church in Oregon. They
returned home late Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. William Glasow of Yuma, Ariz.,
spent last week visiting relatives and old friends in this community and were
house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarion Counsell. From here Mr. and Mrs. Glasow had
gone to Nedrow, N. Y., to visit their son, Harley, and family. They planned to
attend the graduation from college of their granddaughter, Joann, and to attend
her early June wedding. About July 1, the Glasows plan to return to Yuma, where
their daughter, Laline (now Mrs. Neill Collins) and her family live. The Glasows
are natives of the Neillsville area, both having been graduated from Neillsville
High School in 1914. Mrs. Glasow is the former Isadora Forman, daughter of the
late Wheeler and Etta Forman. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. John
Strangfeld in the Town of Pine Valley. Mrs. Strangfeld is the only living
relative of Mr. Glasow.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Poppe of Racine arrived
Monday for a few days’ visit with area relatives and are house guests of Mr. and
Mrs. Lewis Scholtz.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hainz of Milwaukee, Carol and
Connie Hainz, spent the weekend at the George Hales residence.
