William Jordan, a resident of Stanley, died at
Victory Memorial Hospital on Friday.
Mr. Jordan was born Jan. 12, 1888 in
Clark Co., Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jordan. As a young man he
worked in the woods and on bridge construction. He was married to Emma Woller in
Jordan, Minn., Sept. 4, 1917. During World War I, he worked in the ship yards at
Duluth, Minn., and in 1920 farmed in the Thorp Township near Stanley. In 1957
they moved to Stanley.
Surviving are his wife, Emma; three sons, Brice of
Madison, William of Cornell and Pat of Stanley; five sisters, Mrs. John
Tackmier, Chippewa Falls, Mrs. Rose Timlin, Stanley, Mrs. Ed Erdman, Longview,
Wash., Mrs. Emma Platter, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Grant Randle, Seattle, and
seven grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services were at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s Church with Father
Edward Cramer officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
