Rennak, Mr. and Mrs. Julius (Golden - 11 June 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rennak of Rt. 1 Granton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday. The couple began their golden wedding celebration with a 10 o’clock mass at St. Anthony’s Church in Loyal, followed by a dinner for 40 family members and relatives at Star Lodge Motel. An open house for relatives, friends, and neighbors was held in the York Town Hall from 2 to 5 p.m. Tables were decorated with a large wedding cake and flowers.

Mrs. Rennak wore a corsage of cymbidium orchids and Mr. Rennak a carnation boutonniere, a gift of their daughter. Ladies of the Friendship club, to which the Rennak’s belong, were in charge of refreshments at the open house.

The couple was married June 11, 1917, at St. Mary’s Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Father Weber officiated. Attendants were Daniel Turville of Neillsville, who attended the celebration and Grace Richmond Sprague of Homewood, Ill.

Julius Rennak was born in Chicago and came to Jackson County with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rennak, at the age of six. He attended school in Komensky Township and helped on his father’s farm until his marriage.

Lulu Richmond was born on a farm in Minnesota and came to Clark County with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Richmond, at the age of five. She is a graduate of Neillsville High School with the class of 1912. She taught rural schools for seven years in Clark and Jackson counties.

They farmed in Jackson County until 1936, when they bought a farm in York Township, where they still reside. Both are in good health. She is a member of Spokeville Homemaker’s Club and the Altar society of St. Anthony’s Church. He enjoys hunting and fishing and is a member of Marshfield Bowman’s Club.

Their only son died in 1939 at the age of 14. Their daughter, Mrs. Leland (Dorothy) Hansen, lives on a farm near her parents. They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Other relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Biesanz, Winona, Minn.; Mrs. J. B. McNulty, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Art Heinrich, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Theisen, Mrs. Otto Frieze and Mrs. M. Graff, all of Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Oliver, Alma Center.

Numerous other friends and neighbors extended best wishes during the day.
