went to Marshfield Saturday.
Mrs. A. Marten went to Chili on Saturday.
Louis and Victor Lautenbach were Neillsville visitors on Monday.

Hornick Jr. of Chili was here on business on Saturday.
Dr. and Mrs. Rath
were Eau Claire visitors Saturday night.
Mrs. A.C. Holmes of Neillsville
spent Saturday here with relatives.
Wilson Mallory returned home from
Stevens Point on Monday.
Miss Mary Grasser is expected home from
Minnesota tonight.
Mr. and Mrs. Hale Davis and son Robert autoed to
Marshfield Tuesday.
Vernon Kintzele of Neillsville spent Sunday here with
Perry Thayer.
Joe Hill of the town of Sherwood went to Glidden on
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Agin went to Kendall last Saturday on a couple
of weeks visit to relatives there.
Miss Lizzie Meyer of the town of York
came home from Bruce last Tuesday.
James Scoles and daughter Jessie spent
Tuesday with friends at Neillsville.
H.E. Williams shipped a Holstein
bull calf to a Fond du Lac party Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hart and
children autoed to Marshfield on pleasure bent on Monday.
Mrs. Fred Dopp,
her daughter Leila and son Leland are visiting relatives at Galesville since
Monday.
A.J. Chaffin of Ripon, after a several days visit at H.E.
Williams’, went home on Saturday.
Norman Schroeder of Neillsville spent
Monday here with Wallace Rausch.
Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Schlinsog Jr. and son
Wilbur spent Monday with friends at Marshfield.

Riedel and Miss Clara Jahr were Neillsville visiotrs on Friday.
Mrs. Joe
Zimmerman of Neillsville spent Tuesday afternoon here with Mrs. Mary Marsh and
family.
Lucas Hale returned on Tuesday from a several days visit at Max
Opelt’s in the town of Levis.
Homer Davis and son Theron came over from
Osseo Tuesday on a several days visit among old friends.
Miss Edith
Kempine spent Sunday and Monday with home folks at Chili.
Dudley Scott of
Melrose is here since Monday visiting rleatives in the G.E. Amidon family.
Hale Davis went to Rochester, Minn. yesterday in search of help for his
deafness.
Mrs. Albert Manthey was called to Stevens Point Monday by news
of the alarming illness of her mother.
Miss Bertha Riedel, Miss Daphne
Beeckler and Wm. Dows were Neillsville visitors on Monday.
Miss Florence
Green of Stanley, who taught in the town of Sherwood the last 5 months, left for
Owen on Saturday.
W.P. Budge was quite indisposed last Friday and under
the doctor’s care for a few days.
Mrs. J.C. Marsh of Marshfield spent
Decoration Day here with Mrs. Mary Marsh and family.
James Sternitzky of
Marshfield came Wednesday on a visit to relatives at Lynn.
Mrs. Mahaley
Martin went to Osseo Wednesday with her nephew Homer Davis and his son Theron,
who was returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wonser, Neil Brown and Mrs.
Geo. Oldenburg autoed down from Unity and spent Tuesday with the E.R. Wonser
family.
August Reimer returned home from Beloit on Monday.
The
Circle will meet with Mrs. J.M. Tompkins next Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ernest Garbush and daughters spent Monday at Marshfield.
Mrs. Chas.
Chapel and children of Athens visited relatives here Wednesday and Thursday.
Mrs. A.E. Whitney, after a week’s visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lew Smith, left for a new home at Council Bluff, Iowa on Friday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Reinhold Viergutz went to Rochester, Minn. yesterday on a visit to their
children residing there.
Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Lowery went to Stetsonville
Wednesday on a several days visit with the William Dahl family there.
Mr.
and Mrs. Lon Stevens went to Spokeville Tuesday to attend the S.S. Stevens
auction and visit relatives for a few days.
The Gus Holtz family autoed
over from Neillsville Sunday and visited at Gus Hahm’s. Miss Emma Hahm went home
with them and returned here on Monday morning.
Ernest Crevecour, James
Finnigan, Mrs. Hugh Berg and Mrs. Gene Crandall were Marshfield visitors on
Tuesday.
Rev. Trowbridge of Marshfield spent Saturday and Sunday with
Cannonville friends and held services at that church both days.
Miss Ella
Schmidtke, after a weekend visit at home, returned to Marshfield and her school
duties there on Monday.
Ernest Langrehr of Route 3 went to Eau Claire
Monday to see his brother-in-law, J.A. Miller, who is very ill at the Sacred
Heart Hospital there.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gerber, their son Alfred and Carl
Moh autoed to Grand Rapids and visited old friends on Sunday.
Mr. and
Mrs. Wm. Hart of Nasonville were in town Monday and Mr. Hart left for Cazenovia
that day to do mason work for her mother, Mrs. Wells.
W.H. Edens went to
Wausau Saturday. He visited Edgar Sunday and returned home the first of the
week.
Jeff Pennock and Mrs. Belle Brooks of Spencer, N.C. are visiting
their cousin Mrs. Geo. Vine here in Grant since Saturday.
Christian
Keller fell from the barn loft last Friday evening and sustained three broken
ribs and other injuries. It was a very serious mishap for a man of his years.
Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Blake of Chicago arrived here Tuesday to spend the summer
at least at her brother, F.J. Riedel’s farm home.
The Misses Esther
Anderson and Gertrude Zibelle of Neillsville spent Friday and satu her with
relatives in the Harry Davis and Carl Roehl homes.
Miss Essie Bender,
after a week’s vacation visit at home, returned to Richland Center and her
bookkeeping duties there on Saturday.
Mrs. Fred Pizer and son Virgil are
visiting Richland Center relatives since Saturday, when Mr. Pizer accompanied
them down as far as Merrillan.
Mrs. Mary Hasz of Loganville is here since
Saturday visiting her son Rev. M. hasz and family. Her granddaughter Miss Ruth
Hasz went to Merrillan and met her there.
Miss Clara gall of the town of
Sherwood came home from Milwaukee last Friday, accompanied by her sister Mrs.
Ralph Doughty and the latter’s little daughter Opal, for a visit with home folk.
F.W. Davis is quite improved in health the past week. He rode down to town
Monday in an auto and got a shave and is apparently on the mend again.
Mrs. Fred Tyler and son Claude, Miss Neva Henze, Chas. gladl and his father Carl
Bladl, Adolph Schune, Mrs. W.W. Smith, F.J. Riedel, Miss Bertha Riedel and Mrs.
John Pizer were Neillsville visitors on Saturday.
Mrs. Wm. Wittcamp,
after an 8 week visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ziemendorf, and in
attendance at her sister’s funeral, returned to St. Paul Saturday. Her husband,
who accompanied her here, returned to the city two weeks ago.
Miss Ora
Phelps of Stevens Point, who taught in the Foreman District at Christie this
years, spent last week here with the Misses Amy and Thea Marsh, and left for
home on Saturday.
Mrs. James Tremelling and son Lyman and daughter Delia
were over from Marshfield Sunday and visited relatives at Lynn. Masters Lyman
and Albert are home from the hospital for two weeks now and are recovering
nicely from their dynamite wounds.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kurth, their son
Hilton and daughter Elsie, with Mr. and Mrs. Will Kurth, were at Marshfield
yesterday and in attendance at the funeral of Wm. Uthmeier. Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Kurth and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Wilding of Neillsville were also of the party in
attendance at the funeral.
The Memorial Day exercises were somewhat
curtailed on account of the weather Wednesday. The march to the cemetery and
exercises there had to be eliminated, but the program at the opera house was
especially good and well rendered. The house was packed with a very attentive
and appreciative audience and the day, despite the weather, duly observed by the
villagers and the surrounding county here. The Ladies Aid has carried potted
plants and with flags and flowers had decorated the stage which was the center
of interest, most beautifully.
Richard Kuth is home from Milwaukee since
Tuesday. His sister Mrs. Geo. Wilding and brother Will Kurth, who were down ont
eh same errand, returned home several days earlier. Their cousins Mr. and Mrs.
Wm. Uthmeier of Marshfield were also of the Kurth party down to attend the
funeral of their aunt, Mrs. Kurth, and while there last Friday, just as he was
about to leave for home, Mr. Uthmeier was suddenly stricken with an acute attack
of Bright’s disease while at the Northwester depot in that city, his death
resulting Sunday evening.
Miss Ida Kuechenmeister went to Stevens Point
Tuesday on a visit to friends. Miss Selma Kuechenmeister is expected here from
Rochester, Minn., and to continue on to her work at Stevens Point yet this week.
