Ciokiewicz, Joseph #2 (1 OCT 1871 - 22 JUL

Joseph Ciokiewicz, 90, Stanley, died at his residence on Sunday.
Mr. Ciokiewicz was born in Poland Oct. 1, 1871, and was married there in
1899. In 1900 he and his wife came to the United States, settling in Thorp
(Clark Co., Wis.) where they pioneered and farmed for 45 years. They retired 16
years ago and moved to Stanley.
Surviving are his wife; six sons and two
daughters, John of Kewaunee, Tony of Owen, George of Chicago, Nick of Reolinda,
Calif., Joseph of Thorp, and Frank of Stanley; Mrs. Tom Czerniejelski and Mrs.
Frank Dziedzic, both of Chicago, Ill., 32 grandchildren and ten
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Stanley at ten o’clock Wednesday morning, July 25th, and burial was
made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery at Thorp, Father George P. Mathieu officiating.
Pallbearers were Nick Jankoski, Vic Drozd, Walter Liazuk, Chester and Fred
Ragoschka and Norbert Micke.
