Karpinski, Linda L. (14 JUL 1962)

Miss Linda Lou Winger became the bride of Marion Frances Karpinski on Saturday, July 14, 1962 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp. The Rev. Edward Masalewicz officiated at the 10:00 a.m. ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Winger, Gilman, and Mrs. Mary Karpinski, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white lace over taffeta gown fashioned with scalloped neckline and a floor length skirt parted in front showing rows of nylon pleating. A coronet of lace, pretend pearls and sequins held her sheer veil in place. Her cascade bouquet consisted of pink and white roses.

Alice Karpinski, sister-in-law of the groom, was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Mary Wilczek and Betty Winger, sister of the bride. They wore light blue nylon sheer over acetate taffeta dresses styled with drooped midriff and drifting should panels that double as a stole. White hats, gloves and shoes completed their ensemble. Each carried a bouquet of yellow and white roses.

Chester Karpinski was his brother’s best man. Ushers were Edward Koltis and Joe Wilczek.

A dinner and reception were held at Koolmo’s Ballroom, Gilman.

After a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, the couple will reside on the groom’s mother’s farm where he is farming.
