David J. Palmer, 44, Apple Valley, Minn., passed away on
Tuesday, July 17, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends after a short,
challenging battle with neuroendocrine cancer. A gathering of friends and family
will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, at the Henry W. Anderson
Mortuary, Apple Valley. The memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on
Thursday, July 26, in the sanctuary of Peace Lutheran Church, Burnsville, Minn.,
with visitation one hour prior to the service.
David J. Palmer was born
on Oct. 7, 1967. He was raised in Burnsville, Minn., where he graduated from
high school in 1986. He worked at Cub Foods, TCF and most recently Merchants
Bank, where he was a branch manager. He loved his co-workers and customers and
became friends with many. He was passionate for all things related to sports and
especially enjoyed playing softball and broomball with his friends in his
younger days. As a father, he enjoyed coaching youth football, baseball and
basketball. He was a big fan of the Denver Broncos, John Elway and #44 Reggie
Jackson. He loved playing fantasy football and baseball. Dave was gifted at
planning events and activities and co-workers and truly enjoyed being around
others. He loved music and concerts and was a master at “Name That Tune.” He
also loved his time as owner of Double Play Entertainment and Productions with
Dave Peterson.
Survivors include two children, Preston (10) and Payton
(7); his parents, John and Myrna Palmer; a brother, Mike (Naomi) Palmer; a
sister, Jenny Schwartzbauer; aunts and uncles, Kathy and Glen Peterson, and
Pattie and Bryan Talbot; a great aunt and uncle, Muriel & Ted; his ex-wife,
Kelly Huegel (formerly of Greenwood) and family; nephews, John and Jason;
nieces, Emily, Carolyn, Kate and Allie; many cousins; and special friends, Brett
& Marnie Franz, and Troy & Jill Christopherson and many, many more.
He
was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Evelyn Palmer and Milo &
Ellen Randall; His aunt and uncle, Sharon and Bud Martinson; and an uncle, Jerry
Palmer: Dave will be deeply missed by all. Memorials are preferred to the Dave
Palmer Memorial Fund, 7300 147th Street W. Suite 100. Apple Valley, MN 55124.
