Davis, Whiston (4 JUL 1837 - 6 JUN 1917)

Whiston Davis was born in Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., N.Y., July 4th, 1837 and died at his home in the town of Fremont June 6, 1917, aged 79 years and 11 months. He came to Clark County, Wis. when a young man and has resided in the town of Fremont 39 years, living here continuously since, except for a few years spent in Dakota. He is survived by two sons, Gordon and Sherman, both of the town of Fremont, and one daughter Abbie, Mrs. Geo. Harding of Hammet, Calif., by 4 brothers, Thode of Washington, Sidney R. of the town of Grant, Bush of Loyal and Solon of the town of York, and one sister, Mrs. Sales of New York. His wife, Nancy Bowman Davis, died 19 years ago last September.

The funeral will be held from the Advent Church here tomorrow, Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. Wilson Mallory of the Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be made in the Windfall Cemetery beside the grave of his wife.
