Hommel, Dr.
Placido (14 June 1890 - 15 June 1967)
Word has been received in
Neillsville of the death of Dr. Placido Hommel, 77, June 15 in Elkader, Ia.,
where he had made his home for several years.
Dr. Hommel was born June
14, 1890, in Puerto Rico and came to the United States at the age of eight. He
was adopted by the late Capt. J. W. Hommel of Neillsville. He was a graduate of
Neillsville High School and attended Carroll College in Appleton. He also was a
graduate of the Universities of Wisconsin and Illinois. He had practiced
medicine for the last 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former
Maude Twinning; a son, William, of Ft. Simmons, Colo.; and a grandson.
