Anderson, Norman R. (29 NOV 1940 - 28 JUL 2012)

Norman R. Anderson, age 71, of Withee, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at University Hospital in Madison. A memorial service will be held at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Bonnie Cain will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Gary Englebretson, Bruce Englebretson, Dave Loucks, Everett Lindgren, Barry Fetting and Dallas Granquist.

Norman was born November 29, 1940 in Stanley, Wisconsin to Grant and Ethel (Hansen) Anderson. He was a 1958 graduate of Withee High School. After graduating, he worked at Longwood Cheese Factory and then Plautz Brothers in Withee and drove semi hauling cattle for his uncle at Hansen Trucking and later he was a mechanic and then a parts manager for Owen-Withee Motors, he also worked part-time for Presto in Eau Claire making bullets and he also worked for Galvin's in Abbotsford as a diesel mechanic. Norm worked for Withee Oil Company for 17 years. After his retirement, he worked at Loucks Sugar Bush in Abbotsford making maple syrup.

Norm enjoyed bowling, playing pool, horseshoes, softball, camping, hunting, ice fishing and spending time with family and friends

He was a past member of the Owen-Withee Fire Department and the Withee Lions.

In lieu of flowers a donation in Norms name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.

Norman is survived by his loving wife; Alice "Kookie" Anderson of Withee, mother; Ethel Anderson of Owen, sons; Terry (Sue) Anderson of Medford, Kurt (Julie) Anderson of Owen, his grandchildren: Alexis, Kaleb, Jim and Grant Anderson, his great grandchildren; Ashton and Arabella Anderson, his sister; Bonnie (Nick) Matkovich of Owen and nieces and nephews.

Norm is preceded in death by his father; Grant Anderson and sister; Carol Marek.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is assisting the family with arrangements.
