Glyde L. Collinson, 58, of route 1, Loyal, died at St. Joseph’s
Hospital at 4:30 p.m. on Sturday where he had been taken a few hours earlier.
The Rev. Paul Doering held a brief service for him at the Myre Funeral Home.
The body was taken to Lanark, Illinois for burial there on Wednesday
afternoon. Services were held at the Frank Funeral Home with the Rev. Myrle
Howbecker, Church of the Brethern officiating.
Glyde Collinson was born
on November 8, 1901 in York township in Thompson Illinois to Genny and George
Collinson. He was married to Marietta Gruber on Dec. 29, 1928 in Jacksonville,
Illinois. They lived on farms in Carroll County, Illinois until they moved to a
farm in the town of Sherman, Clark County, two years ago. He was a member of the
Methodist Church in Thompson, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife, two
sisters, Mrs. Bessie Schreiner, Clinton, Iowa and Mrs. Frank Plomley, Fulton,
Illinois and by one brother, George Collinson, Spencer. Several nieces and
nephews also survive him.
