Lew Smith went to Westfield on Tuesday.
Mrs. Frank Jahr had dental work done at Neillsville, Saturday.
Mike Dorst and son Leonard were Neillsville visitors Saturday.
Mrs. Hugh Berg had dental work done at Neillsville Friday.
Rev. Wolfe came home from Humbird and August Friday.
Mrs. Eugene Crandall was at Marshfield on Friday.
Warren Newell of Heathville mad a business trip to Marshfield Friday.
Phil Shaw spent Tuesday at Marshfield.
Dave Janes is moving back from Bancroft onto a farm joining that of his parents in the
town of Sherwood.
Theodor Tykac spent part of his vacation in visiting old friends at
Columbia.
Fern Williams, Shirley Knorr and Lloyd Kimball had dental work done at Neillsville,
Saturday.
Mrs. Geo. Frei visited Mrs. Sniteman and Mrs. Wm. Poate at Neillsville a couple of days
last week.
Mrs. Wm. Wallace Sr. of Agusta visited at Chas Lowery’s late last
week.
Mrs. Mary J. Huff is very ill with the grip since Saturday.
George Lindenthaler of Fall Creek is here visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ben Joern since last
Friday.
R.E. Lawrence of the town of York visited his wife at the Marshfield hospital
Tuesday.
Mrs. Jerry Davis and daughter Pearl of Marshfield were week end guests at the W.E.
Benedict home in town of York.
The three Barber children who were here from Sherwood, Wis., visiting relatives in the
Dr. Ross home returned home late last week.
Chester Finnegan autoed over to Neillsville Monday with the Misses Lena and Laura
Riedel and his sister Mrs. Hugh Berg.
Chester Finnegan, his mother and Mrs. Hugh Berg autoed down and spent Sunday at the Ed.
Waterman home in Washburn.
Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Davis entertained a large company of relatives on New Years in
celebration of Mr. Davis’ birthday.
Mrs. Wm. Rogers and daughter Fern of the town of York went to Humbird Saturday on a
several days visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wenzel and son who were here from Withee visiting at Ernest
Lee’s continued on to Merrillan Saturday.
Mrs. Fred Garbush and daughter Elva of Neillsville spent several days of last week here
with the John F. Garbush family.
Mrs. Edward Schroeder and tow youngest children visited at the C. Babcock home in
Neillsville Saturday.
Mrs. Joe Felser and Miss Fern Williams had dental work done at Neillsville
Monday.

Phipps home, departed on the home trip, on Friday.
Mrs. Melvina Wright came home Friday evening from a several days visit at the Jos.
Marsh home at Marshfield.
Mrs. Geo. Huntley spend Monday with her daughter Sadie, Mrs. R.E. Lawrence at the
Marshfield hospital. Sadie was
not so well on Monday, but is since doing
better.
Mrs. Joe Janes of the town of Sherwood is visiting her husband at the Marshfield
hospital since Tuesday.
Mrs. Phil. Uhl and daughter Isabelle and Mrs. M.B. Larkin and daughter Margareth of
Galesville came Monday to spend a week with the Fred Dopp family.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Coil and her daughter Aletha Klein were guests of relatives
hereabouts the first of the week. Mrs. Coil
was advised to take her daughter Aletha to an eye specialist at Marshfield and have her
sightless eye removed. They went over on
Monday.
A.B. Marsh of Neillsville transacted business here Monday.
Mrs. Pauline Pischer was here Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Winter entertained several families at dinner
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Shafter came home Friday from a couple weeks visit with relatives at
Whitehall.
Gladys Henning who had been visiting the Geo. Fraser family here went home to Chili
Saturday.
Miss Hazel Brooks who spent the holiday vacation here returned to Minneapolis
Sunday.
Miss Elsie Snyder of Neillsville was a week end guest in the George Brooks
home.
Miss Elsie Neitzel went to Merrillan Sunday to resume her school work there next
day.
Miss Elsie Johnson resumed her school teaching in town of Levis on
Monday.
Mrs. Gerzemehle entertained a company of lady friends at a feather bee
Wednesday.
Mrs. Will Johnson of Oxford after a visit with the Geo. Brooks family in Lynn left for
her home at Oxford on Sunday.
Ed. And Albert Jahr of Neillsville spent Sunday morning here with
friends.
Ira Solcomb, Ross Root and Guy Hales who were home from Madison during vacation left
for there again on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Thayer of Curtis came last week Thursday and made a several days visit
with his brother W.J. and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Horak and son Em of Columbia were guests of Mr. and Mrs. B Tykac a couple
of days last week.
Frank Babcock of Spencer, Iowa, who was visiting relatives at Neillsville came over
Friday and visited his cousin Mrs. Jas. Finnegan.
The Misses Ora and Maria Davis with Mrs. Levi Morris spent Saturday afternoon with
friends at Marshfield.
Mrs. Augusta Riedel entertained an even half dozen of her lady friends at a party
Saturday afternoon.
Chas. Neinas and family with their guests Mrs. Peters and daughter Renatta drove out
and spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Guk.
Ben Robbins of Fall River came to visit his uncle Ira here last Wednesday and on
Saturday left on the return trip accompanied by his uncle Ira who will probably remain
with him until spring.
Clara Neinas, after a several day visit here with her cousin Lydia Neinas went home to
Chili Saturday. Lydia accompanied her and
made an over Sunday visit there.
Miss Alma Riedel came home on Monday from a weeks visit between the Emil Hubing and
Will Rinehart homes at Athens. She reports
enjoying the acquaintance of her two months old niece Ruth Rinehart.
Mrs. John Dietrich and daughters were called home from St. Paul last week by the death
of a relative, one John Miller at Batavia and Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich went there to
attend the funeral.
Mrs. Geo Beaver and her daughters Leona and Rosetta went to Athens,
Saturday. Mrs. Beaver and Rosetta came home
Monday while Leona remained with her grandparents Hubing and will continue with her
school studies there.
Mrs. Max Geimer, Mrs. T.D. Wage, Miss Frances Brooks, Miss Birdine Kihn, Nick
Wiernszski and son Max and Miss Elsie Bender were among those from this vicinity who
visited friends or ha dental work done at Neillsville Friday.
Jim Sparks of Plainfield is visiting relatives in town of Sherwood since last week
Wednesday when his brother Jesse drove in and met him here.
Mrs. Maher of Michigan joined her daughter here at the Fred Vine home last week
Thursday on a visit to relatives and to attend the golden wedding of her parents Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Vine Sr. which took place at the old home on Wednesday.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tompkins of Rhinelander,Saturday January 3, 1914, a son,
who bears the name Edward Brown Tompkins.
Postmaster J.M. Tompkins who is his grand-dad is mighty proud to be grand-dad to this
boy. Their other grandchildren being all
girls and this is Rob’s first boy.
Miss Bessie Beeckler returned to Sheboygan last Saturday to resume her duties as
teacher in that city.
The Misses Lydia Schier and Teatz left for Marshfield Monday to resume their duties at
the Wood Co. asylum.
Mr. and Mrs. H.G. Graves left last Saturday for the extended visit with relatives in
Fond du Lac and other places.
Several weeks ago Mrs. Frank X. Smith lost a ten dollar bill on the streets of
Granton. The money was found by Mrs. Stella
Mortimer who promptly returned it to the rightful owner.
Mrs. Hahms, Mrs. Rice Davis, Kearney Davis and daughter Charlotte, Free Raymond, Henry Conrad and Oscar Jahr were Neillsville visitors Wednesday.
