Wellie Davis and Fred Dankemyer drove over to Gordon Davis
To see Wellie’s grandfather, Whitson Davis, who is very low at this writing.

Chas. and Aug. Ley were callers at Fred Dankemyer’s Wednesday evening.

Pearl and Jay Harding came home from Neillsville to attend the farewell party at their home Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dankemyer called at Wellie Davis’ Thursday evening.

Chas. Ley says he will soon leave for Reno. He says life in Reno is just fine.

Chas. Witham left for his new home at Spencer on Friday.

Chaser Harding, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Harding, came home on Tuesday from Underwood, N.D. where he has been employed on a farm.

A large crowd gathered at the A. Harding sale. Everything brought a fair price.

It seems that most of early corn planted has rotted as the result of cold weather and wet. Corn did not sprout soon enough, so this means plant again.

Just before the close of these items we learn that W.H. Davis died at his home June 6th at 2 o’clock a.m. Mr. Davis has nearly reached his 80th birthday. July 4th he will be 80 years old. He was one of the oldest settlers of the town of Fremont. The old gentleman was respected as a friend and neighbor by all.

The registration ay found 80 in this town between 21 and 31 years of age.

Miss Jennie Eibergen spent several days of last week with Mrs. Fred Dankemyer and had sowing done.

Dr. H.L. Rose and family were callers at W.H. Davis’ Tuesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Davis and son Alton arrived here from California this week. A telegram was sent to them to come at once, as his father is very low.

Al Christensen and family sutoed to Granton Sunday.

Mrs. Amanda Tarbox and her brother Edgar Rollins are visiting at J. Rollins.

Mrs. Ernest Hankey visited at A. Dankemyer’s Monday.

John Van Domlin was surprised Friday evening, June 1, when about fifty of his friends dropped in and gave his a surprise party. The evening was spent at card playing and dancing. At midnight a fine lunch was served, and all departed for their home, wishing Mr. Van Domlin many more happy birthdays.

Tony Hornick has had the Ford fever. He has ordered a car and is somewhat better at this writing.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gerritts’, formerly of this place, and who live now at Appleton, Wis., are the proud parents of a fine baby girl. This makes them five boys and five girls in the family.

There was a farewell party at Abe Harding’s Saturday night.
