The June flood is with us again.
Miss
Esther Brooks is expected home Wednesday from Whitewater.
Mrs. Emma
Oatman went up Tuesday to visit at John Rollin’s family.
Mrs. Henry
Breseman of Chili is very sick with cancer of the bowels.
Mr. and Mrs.
Anton Schuster and children of Stratford came back with Mrs. Prust Sunday. Tona
returned Monday a.m., but the Mrs. And children will stay for a longer visit.
Miss Lottie Albrecht is to return to L.A. Reichert’s store clerking. Miss
Adelaide Neinas resigned as she was needed at home.
Decoration Day was
observed at Chili as usual. On account of the rain no one went to the cemetery
in the a.m. The W.C.T.U gave a 15 cent lunch at the M.E. Church, and the program
was held at the M.W.A. Hall. Rev. Wilson Mallory was the speaker followed by a
fine program from the children of Fremont District No. 2 and Chili school. The
Sternitzky band and Mr. Webster on the snare drum, by the choir and schools,
furnished music. The Boy Scouts took quite a part. Afterwards they went to the
graveyard and decorated the graves of the soldiers.
Gerald Davis returned
from Taconite Tuesday for a short visit home.
Mr. Dan Brooks and Emma
Brooks, John Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Jorgenson and Ruth were Marshfield visitors on
Tuesday.
Mr. Russell Greene and wife, Waite Wilcox and wife, with Morris
Dickenson and family, went up near Loyal for a pleasure trip and picnic dinner.
Fred Hill and wife and two sons, with Helen and Home Wilcox, autoed to
Cadott last Sunday. Gay Hill returned by train on Monday. I don’t know if the
rest came or not. It has rained since.
