Neillsville Locals (29 June 1967)

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Bender and baby, and Mrs. Elmer Bender of Loyal, were guests Friday evening at the Winkleman and Lavene home in the Town of York. Elmer Bender entered the Marshfield hospital last week and underwent surgery Monday. Guests one other evening last week were Mr. and Mrs. George Schaefer of Christie.

Josephine Kooken of Porterville, Calif., William Uhlman of Christie and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Lavene and son were dinner and supper guests Friday of Mrs. Amelia Winkleman and Mrs. Hattie Forman. Mrs. Kooken and William Uhlman are sister and brother. They spent the winter in California. They are cousins of Mrs. Winkleman.

Kenneth Pischer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Pischer of Neillsville, visited the University of Wisconsin Campus in Madison last week to register for the fall term.

Jane D. Harvey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harvey, plans to register today (Thursday) for the fall term at Wisconsin State University - La Crosse. She plans to major in physical education.

Miss Ann Lukes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lukes of Neillsville, has accepted a position as ticket agent for Braniff International Airlines at the Minneapolis International Airport. She recently completed a course at McConnell Airline School in Minneapolis, where she received special training in preparation for an airline career in the McConnell “18” program designed for girls in their teens. Miss Lukes is a 1966 graduate of Neillsville High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller and family of Evansville were weekend guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Moser.

Mrs. Daisy Hubing is spending several days in Tomah with her son, George Reinart, and family.
