Mrs. Geo. King is visiting home folks at La Valle since Wednesday.

Henry Winter went to Edgar on business Friday.

Henry Grassman was a Marshfield visitor Wednesday.

Ed Sternitzky and Walter Coil were Chili visitors on Wednesday.

Mrs. Chas. Neinas and Mrs. Mary Peters spent Wednesday with Mrs. Geo. Wilding at Neillsville.

Miss Emma Dahl left for Clintonville and Shawano Wednesday on a several weeks pleasure trip and visit with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wischuelke went to Marshfield Wednesday on a several days visit to old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Schneider, their children Myrtle and Norman spent Wednesday with friends at Marshfield.

Cyrus Thomas of Lisbon, N.D. is here visiting his cousin Helene Baer since Wednesday.

Mr.a nd Mrs. Geo. Campbell of Marshfield, after a several days visit here, continued on to Neillsville Tuesday evening.

A.J. Knorr arrived home from Milwaukee Tuesday morning while Miss Myrtle remained for a more extended visit.

Mr. and Albert Davis and Miss Alta Wright were Neillsville visitors on Wednesday.

Mabel and Bennie Larson of R. 1 went to Eleva Wednesday on a visit to relatives.

Miss Ella Hales left for Tracy, Minn., Wednesday. She will visit in Minneapolis enroute and be absent several weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shafer moved to the E.R. Wonser farm on Route1, Tuesday. Lester has accepted the position offered him there.

A.J. Knorr and daughter Myrtle left for Milwaukee in a new Dodge roadster, which Mr. Knorr is driving down for his son Lynn there, last Saturday.

Mrs. Ole P. Larson, her son Walter and daughter Sadie, of the town of Sherwood went to St. Paul Monday to visit relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stallman and baby May came up from Camp Douglas Friday and visited his parents and other friends here until Monday.

Miss Frances Brooks, having finished her studie at Eau Claire, is here at her uncle Chas. Brooks’ home since Friday. She expects to leave for the west with her father by auto, very soon.

The. R.N.A. gave a farewell party for Mrs. P.M. Ross at the A.J. Knorr home, Thursday evening of last week.

Dr. g. Murphy and family are home from their vacation visit and two weeks pleasure trip since Monday.

Joe Krause went to Wausau Friday and continued on to Tomahawk Monday. He will visit at Appleton, Neenah and other state points before returning home late this week.

Mr. and Mrs. McCrillis and Mrs. Sherwood of Marshfield, after a week’s visit with friends in the town of Washburn, went home last Friday.

Beauford Fraser underwent an operation for removal of his tonsils Sunday and is about O.K., since Tuesday.

Mrs. Chas. Neinas and Mrs. Mary Peters went to Humbird Tuesday and spent the day with Mrs. George Hart and other old friend.

The Misses Helen Schroeder, Iva Barager and Ida Shapiro of the corps of teacher, left for their respective homes at Augusta, Stevens Point and Marshfield, last Friday.

Mrs. Wm. Bone of Chicago, with her aunt, Mrs. Norman Hart of Humbird, are visiting relatives in the Fred Hart home since Wednesday.

Mr.a nd Mrs. Evan Williams of Fond du Lac, with Mrs. Dave Williams of Neillsville, spent a couple of days of last week here with the E.W. Crandall family.

Mrs. Loren Snyder, who came down from Duluth last week to attend the funeral of her uncle, the late Frant Osgood, departed on the home trip on Friday.

Miss Jennie Ackerman went to New Richland Wednesday to attend the Evangelical Lutheran Sunday school convention. She expects to return home on Sunday.

Mrs. John Bladl and son Jerome, Mrs. A. Marten and Chas. Bladl Sr. spent Wednesday with relatives at Chili.

Mrs. Albert Manthey, who was called to Stevens Point last week by the death of her mother, Mrs. Geo. Kissinger, returned home after the funeral, on Saturday.

Five pupils of the school district No. 4, town of Grant, wrote and received diplomas. They are Herman Kelpin, Mary Hefty, Dannie, Adelia and Ella Garbisch. The last three are Henry Garbisch’s children.

A miscellaneous shower was given on Miss Mariah Davis by a large number of her young friends last Monday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Whitcomb of York spent Sunday here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Shafer.

Mrs. Oosterhaus and son Carl, with her nephew Irving Wierman, all of Waldo, are visiting at Henry Lawson’s since last Thursday.

Mrs. Gus Hahm and daughter Emma, Louis Plauel and Edmond Garbush autoed to Loyal on a visit to old friends on Sunday.

Mrs. B.F. Frazier of Loyal, with Miss Mildred Kintzele of Neillsville, were guests of the W.J. Thayer family on Monday.

Rollo Welsh came down from Spokeville last week Wednesday and remained until Saturday visiting among relatives.

Miss Lulu Beecher went to Mann with her little nephew Edmond Beecher, whom she was taking home on Saturday. Lulu returned here on Monday.

Mrs. A.E. Loveless, after a two week visit with relatives in the Ed and Will Waterman, Geo. Vine and other homes, left on the return trip Monday.

The Misses Haidee and Daphne Beeckler went to Neillsville Saturday and remained until Tuesday, visiting there brother George and wife.

Roland Sherrett of Route 4, after a month’s absence attending school in Fond du Lac, arrived home Monday evening.

Miss Vivian Bassett and Miss Agnes Schmidt of Loyal came Saturday and made an over Sunday visit with the Otto Yankee family in the town of Lynn.

Mr. Bertholson of Bethel came Friday and held services in the Cannonville church a couple of days, returning home on Monday.

Mrs. Beth Squires, after a week’s visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Machel, on Route 4, went back to Marshfield on Friday.

Mrs. Chas. Babcock, with her daughter Mrs. Wm. Wallace and the latter’s children Neil and Agnes, are here from Neillsville visiting relatives in the Edw. Schroeder family since Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Carpenter came over from Neillsville Saturday morning for a visit with the Frank Davis family and to attend the funeral of their old friend and neighbor, Whiston Davis.

Mrs. Ernest Garbisch left for Springfield, Minn. last week on a visit to her aged parents, the Rev. and Mrs. Henry Pischer.

Miss Izzy Pitts accompanied her aunt, Mrs. Annie Lustig, home from Neillsville Monday for a short vacation and visit.

Loretta Armstrong of Chili, after a several weeks visit with relatives in the Willis Williams family, went home on Friday.

Miss Ida Kuechenmeister returned home on Monday from a 2 week stay and visit with her sister, Miss Selma, in Stevens Point. She reports Miss Selma as being fairly well again.

Wm. Seltrecht, who has enlisted in the state militia Co., came home from Kenosha on a farewell visit to home folks on Sunday.

Miss Jessie Scoles is on a visit to her brother Calvert and his wife at Ironton, Minn., since Tuesday. Her father James Scoles left Chicago Tuesday for Converse, Ind., in search of health.

Children’s Day will be celebrated in Rev. Reiff’s parish next Sunday with appropriate exercises in the grove. The Granton band will furnish the music and a very good program is promised in the afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neinas, with their guests Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Reitz and Mrs. Mary Peters of Appleton, autoed to Dorchester Sunday and spent the day with friends in that village.

Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Butschke and Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Butschke, all of Oconomowoc, came Saturday to attend the 20th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Witte, which was celebrated here on Sunday. They departed on the home trip Monday.

E.L. Anthony and Miss Clara Pischer accompanied Mrs. E.A. Schroeder and baby Virginia Lee, who were going to Arpin, as far as Marshfield last week Thursday, enjoyed seeing “The Birth of a Nation” there that night.

Mrs. Ed Wussaw and her three children, with Miss Kuenze of Vesper, came Saturday to help Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Witte to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on Sunday. They remained until Wednesday, when they left on the home trip.

Miss Lulu Beecher’s birthday on Monday was just the excuse her young friends were looking for and the surprise party they gave her that evening was a most delightful affair for all concerned.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Campbell of Marshfield came over last Sunday for a visit at the Geo. Rose home. Mrs. Campbell, who was very ill with diphtheria last August, does not gain in health and strength as fast as she could wish.

Wayne Potter was at Marshfield yesterday.

Mr. and Mrs. Schoenfeld of Plymouth, after a week’s visit at their son Emil’s in York, left for home on Thursday.

Mrs. Wm. Marg spent yesterday with old friends at Marshfield.

Mrs. Mary Peters, with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Reetz, all of Appleton, arrived here early last Saturday morning on a visit to the Chas. Neinas family. Mr. and Mrs. Reetz left for home early Tuesday morning, while Mrs. Peters will remain until sometime next week.

Mrs. Chas. Krnoch of Route 3 went to Black River Falls last week Thursday where at the home of an uncle there, she visited her mother who was up from Milwaukee, and other relatives who were there from Philadelphia, Pa. Mrs. Krnoch made a several days visit.

Will Kurth and family, accompanied by Miss Elsie Kurth and Alvin Grassman, left by auto for Pine Island, Minn., Tuesday on a several days pleasure trip and visit with friends there.

Wm. Schoengarth and daughter Anita and Mrs. Geo. Reindel with the latter’s husband, spent Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield that they might be near Mrs. Wm. Schoengarth who that day underwent a serious operation for relief of a trouble of long standing.

Miss Gertrude Howard went to Eau Claire Tuesday on a visit to her sister, Mrs. Will Geisler of Bruce, who has been a patient at the hospital there for the past two weeks. Mr. Howard visited her there early last week, while Mrs. Howard remains at Bruce caring for Mrs. Geisler’s children.
