Robinson, Violetta (1 APR 1930 - 14 DEC 1962)

A Route 2, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, Mrs. Orin Robinson, 32, was killed instantly when the car which she was driving and another automobile collided on the crest of a town road 6 miles north and three miles west of Thorp about 5 p.m. Friday.

Inured in the accident was Robert Novak, route 2, Thorp, driver of the other car, and Mrs. Robinson’s husband, a passenger in the Robinson car.

Novak is being treated in Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley for multiple fractures of both arms and legs. Robinson suffered only minor injuries and was released from the Stanley hospital after emergency treatment.

The accident occurred in Taylor County’s town of Taft, and was investigated by Taylor County Traffic Officer Al C. Krueger, who described the crash as a “Head on side swipe.” The Robinson car was a total wreck and the Novak car was damaged extensively.

Mrs. Robinson and her husband had previous marriages. Mrs. Robinson is the mother of five children, and her husband has one child.

Funeral services for Mrs. Violetta Robinson were held at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, with Rev. Carl Peters officiating. Interment was in Eidsvold Cemetery.

Mrs. Robinson was born in Cadott on April 1, 1930, the daughter of Harvey and Iva Buttke. She attended the Eigel Grade School. On Oct. 5, 1959 she was married to Orin Robinson at Owen, Wis. After their marriage they moved to their residence in the town of Taft, where she had since resided.

Surviving are her husband, Orin, five children by a former marriage, Ronald, Lloyd, Diane, Delores and Darlene Zilliette, all at home, one step-daughter, Anita Lynn Robinson, at home, and one step-son, Robert Dale Robinson, Eau Claire, her parents, five brothers and three sisters, Victor of Elbow Lake, Minn., Tony of Colorado, Floyd, LaVerne and Lyle, all of Cadott, Mrs. Arthur (Doris) Donley, Augusta, Esther Buttke of Cadott, and Mrs. Cecil (Clarince) Jeanke of Milwaukee.
