The American Legion Hall in Greenwood was the
setting for a surprise silver wedding anniversary party which was given by the
children of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Lindner in their honor Saturday evening. About 120
relatives and friends gathered for the occasion.
A corsage and
Boutonniere of yellow and whit feathered carnations were presented to the couple
along with a purse of money and many gifts of silver. A three tier cake
decorated with silver leaves and sprinkled silver was made by Mrs. Jake Lindner
and a lunch was served.
Mr. and Mrs. Lindner were married in St.
Anthony’s Catholic Church at Loyal on October 23, 1935 by Father Auirt. Three of
their attendants were present Saturday evening. They were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald
Denk of Greenwood and Jim Lindner of Loyal. Mrs. Al Goetz, the fourth attendant
from Milwaukee could not attend/
The couple have eight children, Herbie
Lindner, Loyal; Rennie Lindner, Edgar; Patty Lindner, Eau Claire; Jane Lindner,
Marshfield; and Billy, Mary, Beth and Debbie, who live at home. They also have
three grandchildren.
Those from away who attended the reception were Mr.
and Mrs. Willam Suffran, Plymouthh; Chris Brahm, Markus Kreuser, Mr. and Mrs.
Ambrose Kreuser, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lindner and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindner,
all of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. John Shober, West Salem; Mr. and Mrs. Mike
Hughes, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Towne and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Merkel, all of
Marshfield.
Sunday morning an 8:00 high mass was said for the intention
of Mr. and Mrs. Lindner at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. They also
entertained at a family dinner for which all of the children were present along
with Mr. and Mrs. Ambrose Kreuser, Chris Brahm and Markus Kreuser of Milwaukee,
Mrs. Edwin Kreuser, Loyal and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Schwarze of Greenwood.
