Abbotsford Man May Have Changed Mind
Chicago – “There is happiness in death, for I have witnessed it.” This was
the note left by C. C. Lester, Abbotsford, Wis., who disappeared from his room
in the New Imperial hotel, 316 South State street, on Wednesday.
Another
letter found by the police later read: “My last wish: Please sent the satchel
and letters to my wife, Mrs. C. C. Lester, in Abbotsford, Wis. My last cent is
gone and I am sick. I am ending it all if I can reach the lake.”
The
police believe it possible Lester might have changed his mind.
