Mrs.
Alvin Vandeberg and son Johnny came last Tuesday to spend a few days here with
friends. Alvin came up Saturday and they went home together Sunday.
Mr.
and Mrs. Otto Schoenfeld and two children came from Plymouth Monday for a week’s
visit with his brother Emil and wife.
Saturday afternoon Mr. and Mrs.
Omer Deets autoed to Granton and when they came home the house was full of
ladies and they reminded her that it was her birthday. Refreshments and ice
cream were served. Everyone had a lovely time and all went home wishing her many
returns of the day.
Emil Schoenfeld is the owner of a new Dodge touring
car.
Mr. Ray Mortimer and Miss Mariah Davis were married Saturday
evening, June 20th, 1917 in the church at Loyal by Rev. Clock of that place.
George Mortimer, brother of the groom, acted as best man, and Ora Davis, sister
of the bride, acted as bridesmaid. Mr. Warner, an old neighbor, was on the scene
with his pockets full of rice. The young couple began housekeeping on the
groom’s farm on Sunday. To them we extend best wishes for a happy married life.
