Conduct Rites At Withee For Early County Resident

Funeral services for Mrs. William Atkin, former resident of Sheboygan county, who died Sunday at her home at Withee, Wis., were held there Wednesday.

Mrs. Atkin had been ill for the past two years.

Nellie Anthonette Wenzel was born Jan. 17, 1876, in Sheboygan county and was married here in 1897 to William Atkin.

The couple went to Withee in 1900 and built a home in the wilderness, being among the first settlers in the town of Hixon.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters and a son.

Note: The published date of the Sheboygan Press was Thursday, December 8, 1932. Mrs. Atkin passed away on the previous Sunday, making her death date December 4, 1932.

Nellie (Wenzel) and William Atkin are both listed as being interred at the Riverside Cemetery Index, Town Hixon, Clark County, Wisconsin.

The Sheboygan County Historical page indicates a marriage date of October 6, 1897, page 7, volume 520-3106.
