Weideman, James L. (18 JUN 1921 - 10 AUG 2012)

James L. Weideman, 80, of Dorchester was welcomed into the arms of the Lord after a long battle with polio and melanoma on Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Colonial Center in Colby, surrounded by his family.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. Rev. Jerome Freimuth will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

James was born on Oct 21, 1931 to Hebert and Tillie (Sauter) Weideman in the Town of Holton in Marathon County. He grew up and worked on the family farm. He moved to Dorchester in 1959 with his mother and sister, Arlene, where he enjoyed his flower beds and vegetable garden. He also enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. He was a special and much loved uncle to his nieces and nephews, attending their events and visiting with them.

He is survived by his sister, Arlen Weideman of Dorchester; and brothers, Robert (Helen) Weideman of Curtiss and Harvey (Mary Ann) Weideman of Curtiss; his sister-in-law, Lydia Weideman of Abbotsford, and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Vivian Ramker, Mae Harder, Joyce Weideman, and his brother, Arthur Weideman.

The Family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Center for their warm and special care of Jim.
