Miss Clara Reich was at Neillsville Tuesday.

Ralph Marsh was home for the Fourth.

James Finnigan spent the Fourth at Marshfield.

Miss Jennie Ackerman spent the Fourth with relatives at Chili.

Hugh Swanson and S.R. Davis were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

Miss Lydia Neinas arrived home from Whitehall Monday afternoon.

Mrs. Augusta Breed has just had her house re-shingled.

Fred Gerber has just finished a big addition to his barn.

Miss Bertha Riedel visited Neillsville friends Friday.

Miss Frances Brooks came down from Greenwood Saturday.

Miss Catherine Bladl and Mrs. A. Martin went to Chili Tuesday.

Clarence Strand of Iola is here visiting the Geo. and Homer King families since Tuesday.

Arthur Neinas is in sole charge of the Connor Lumber Co.’s yard here since Monday.

Merrill McClaflin of Arpin is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rice Davis since Tuesday.

Miss Leona Albright came from Vesper Tuesday to visit at Rella Osgood’s over the Fourth.

Miss Esther True of Hatfield spent much of this week here at the E.A. Beeckler home.

Neil Downer is marketing some fine home grown strawberries since the 4th.

Mr. and Mrs. Victor Anthony and baby Marion returned home Saturday from a visit at Weyauwega.

Walter Seefeldt of Plymouth is here on an extended visit at the home of his uncle, Fred Capelle.

Neil Kidd was at the county seat on business last week Thursday.

Gertrude Davis came home from a week’s visit at Merrillan on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pizer and son Virgil returned home from a 5-week visit to relatives in Richland County on Saturday.

Miss Bessie Davis of Lodi is visiting Mrs. Geo. King since Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Fraser of Chili spent the Fourth here with their son George.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huntley spent the Fourth at Neillsville.

Dr. J. Devine of New London was a guest of the W.M. Winn family the Fourth.

Mrs. Fred Daniels of Route 3 is at the Marshfield Hospital since Tuesday suffering with appendicitis.


Warren Page came up from Waupun Saturday for a weekend visit with his children at Neillsville.

The Misses Sadie and Florence Anthony of Weyauwega are here at E.A. Schroder’s on route 3 for the past week.

Steven Smith of Duvall, Canada is here since last week Thursday visiting his old friend Chas. Krnoch and family on Route 3.

Wm. Machel, Fred Furgeson and the Misses Mable and Alice Johnson were guests of the Baers at dinner Wednesday evening.

John Shaw of Baraboo, after a several weeks visit with relatives in the Dan Ruggles family on Route 4, town of Sherwood, went home Tuesday.

Mrs. Paulson and Miss Lillie Johnson of Nasonville are here visiting the former’s daughter, Mrs. D.S. Rausch since Tuesday.

George A. Ure and George Wilding were over from Neillsville on business on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. August Reimer and daughter Mrs. Buss, all of Cascade, are here since Monday, guests of the Wm. Reisner family on Route 2.

Mrs. Chas. Haltaufderheide and daughter Dorothea went to Two Rivers last Friday for a several weeks stay and visit with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. John Dix and their children are here from Manitowoc since last Saturday visiting her brother Gus Bergeman and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Beyer of Portland, Oregon, who are back on a visit, spent last week betweent eh David Hillert, Herman Thiede, Paul Roder and Carl Schuelke families.

Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Lawrence of York Center left for Minneapolis last Friday ona pleasure and prospecting trip that may take them to the Pacific coast.

Judge and Mrs. F.S. Thomas, their son Cyrus and daughter Ethel Jean, who were visiting the Baers last week, left for their home at Lisbon, N.D. Monday noon.

Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Rasmussen of Marshfield, with Mrs. Eimerman of Junction City and Mrs. Oliver of Marshfield autoed over here Saturday and spent the day with the Frank Lavey family.

Master Harland Bergeman was out to the picnic at Pietenpol’s Sunday and we were pleased to note that he is looking very well and gets about very nicely and quite happily on his crutches.

Miss Beulah Lee went to Neillsville Tuesday evening to visit Miss Mildred Kintzele.

Miss Ruby Winn came up from Milwaukee Tuesday on a week’s vacation visit to dad and mother.

Miss Mathilda Strey came up from Milwaukee Tuesday and is since visiting her sister, Mrs. John Dietrich.

Geo. Drake came down from Spencer Tuesday and spent the 4th with old friends.

Chas. Haltaufderheide, his son Silas and Harold Downer were at Neilslville Saturday.

Mrs. Mabel Welsh spent several days of last week nursing a sick friend at Spokeville.

Austin Toptine and family autoed up from Shortville a week ago Sunday and visited at Elizabeth Fuller’s.

Baby Dorothea Dahlke, who ahs been so very ill with pneumonia, is at this writing, much improved.

R.C. Norman came up from Milwaukee and spent Tuesday with his mother at the Erwin Brooks home in Lynn.

Mrs. F. Gassow of Whitehall, after a 10 day visit at Peter Jensen’s on route 2, went home to the city on Tuesday.

Miss Thea Marsh went to Neillsville Friday on a couple of days visit to friends.

Carl Schuelke returned home on Monday from a week’s visit with her sister, Mrs. Oswald Pischer.

Reinhold Kuechenmeister went to Tomahawk last Friday and remained until Monday, visiting old friends.

Mrs. J. Reiff went to Wausau last week Thursday and visited relatives until Monday.

Ernest and Irene Hagen went to Neillsville Tuesday evening to spend the Foruth at their grandpa Rodman’s.

Mrs. A. Marg, Mrs. Henry Marg and son Vernie, Rose and Stanley Kemmeter are home from Milwaukee since Saturday.

Mrs. Gus Arndt and children of Neillsville were here and in attendance at the family reunion of the Henry Sternitzky family on Wednesday.

Miss Vivian McClaflin went to Humbird Saturday evening with Mrs. Creviston and son and Mr. and Mrs. Silas Delano, who had been here on a visit.

Miss Alma Schuelke is home from mIlwaukee on a 10 day visit since the 4th. She visited relatives at Cobb enroute home.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schaeffner and daughters Elma and Irma of Spokeville visited friends here and continued on to Neillsville last Friday.

Rev. Titus Lang of Omaha, Neb. Arrived here Tuesday to visit the scenes of his childhood and renew acquaintance with old friend. While here he is the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Lockman and son Harold of the L.E. Moh farm, went to Columbia Tuesday evening to spend the Fourth with relatives and old friends.

Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Renne and their three children, with his brother Harry, autoed down from Veefkind and spent Saturday with the L. Stevens family.

Mrs. Rudolph Frantz of Shortville went to Iowa Monday on a two week visit to a sister who lives there and is very ill.

Mrs. F.J. Scholtz, with her brother-in-law Louis Scholtz, went to St. Paul, Minn. last Friday and are expected to return home yet this week in a Ford auto, driving from St. Paul.

Mrs. Roscoe Galbreath and baby Dorothea, accompanied by Miss Grace Loughnan of Black River Falls, arrived home from a two week visit to friends at Nashotah last Friday evening evening.

Miss Mary Grasser returned home Monday evening from a week’s visit among relatives and old friends at Ft. Atkinson, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac. At Oshkosh she visited Mr. and Mrs. Sandman and at Fond du Lac the John Donahue family.

H.A. Stuart of Chicago came down from Crandon alst week Thursday and spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Redman of Birchwood farm on Route 4. The Redman’s were old acquaintances and neighbors of his before moving here from Chicago.

Miss Renatta Witte is home from Wausau Business College on a week’s vacation since last Friday.

Mrs. Frances Woodward of Neillsville came over by auto Monday and visited Mrs. Baer.

Rev. Sholtz of New York is here since Monday visiting relatives in the Richard Kurth family.

Miss Nellie Dorst came home from Stratford Saturday and made an over Sunday visit to home folk.

Gilbert Sternitzky went to Sheridan Tuesday on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin.

Miss Gertrude Kimball came over from Marshfield Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at the W.S. Davis home.

Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Davis are here since Saturday visiting the Frank Davis, Mabel Welsh and Lon Stevens families.

Mrs. Chas. Babcock of Neillsville came Saturday and remained over Monday, the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Schroeder.

Mrs. John Richardson Jr. of Neillsville called on town friends Monday.

Miss Hulda Schoengarth went to Marshfield Monday and accompanied her mother home from the hospital there that day. Mrs. Schoengarth is convalescing nicely.

Miss Nellie Lockman of Chicago and her niece, Mrss Beatrice Lowe of Duluth, are here since last week Tuesday visiting the former’s mother and brother, Mrs. Lockman and son Emil.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schoenfeld and sons Walter and Robert of Plymouth arrived here on a visit to his brother Emil and family on Monday.

Mrs. John Rollins and children of Chili, with Mrs. Amanda Tarbox of Miles City, Montana visited Mrs. F. J. Baer on Monday afternoon.

Henry Grassman has accepted a position with the R. Connor Co. at Auburndale, and his family expects to join him there and take up residence yet this week.

Will and Ernest Gransee of Rosendale came Saturday and made a weekend visit with the Frank Warren family on the old Aug. Lautenbach farm here in the town of Grant.

Mrs. Max Steinhous, with her two children, are expected here from Waukesha yet this week on a visit to her sister, Mrs. E.R. Wonser.

Mrs. Chas. Creviston and son of Humbird, returning from a visit at Arpin, stopped off here Thursday evening and visited the Warren McClaflin family for the balance of the week.

Chas. Boley, with his son Arthur and the latter’s wife, and a Miss Olson, a sister of Mrs. Arthur Boley, autoed up from Sheboygan in their Dodge Sedan and spent the first of the week here with relatives in the E.A. Beeckler home, departing on the return trip on Tuesday.

Mrs. Geo. Howard came home from Bruce Tuesday. Her daughter Mrs. Will Geisler of Bruce is home from the Eau Claire Hospital convalescing since Monday.

Mrs. Annie Ketel of Portland, Oregon, after a several week’s visit among old friends and neighbors here at Neillsville and at Chili, will leave on the return trip west yet this week.
