Benzschawel, Diane (2 FEB 1963)
Miss Diane Benzschawel, San Diego,
Calif., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Benzschawel, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.),
became the bride of Cpl. Vernon York, San Diego, Calif., son of Mrs. Nathale
Frese, thorp, and Mrs. E.D. York, El Monte, Calif., on Saturday, Feb. 3, 1963 at
St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church, San Diego, Calif. Rev. Patrick Kearney
performed the ten a.m. double ring ceremony.
For her wedding the bride
wore a white satin dress with tiers of over lace and net. A long train trimmed
with lace completed her outfit and she carried a bouquet of red roses.
Marie Korb, Boyd, Wis., friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and Kathy
Shanley, St. Paul, Minn., also a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore
red slipper satin sheath dresses with overskirts and each carried a bouquet of
peppermint carnations.
Russ Vellum, San Diego, friend of the groom, was
best man, and ushers were Richard Korb and Ralph Haddock, friends of the bride
and groom.
A reception for 25 guests was held at the bride’s apartment.
The bride and groom are both graduates of Thorp High School, and the groom
is now a drill instructor with the U.S. Marines.
After a wedding trip to
L.A., the new couple will make their home at 4151 Cleveland Ave., San Diego,
Calif.
