Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Decker, Route 4, Chippewa
Falls, were held at nine o’clock Monday morning, March 25 at Notre Dame Church.
Interment was in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Decker died Friday
morning at 11:15 o’clock at her home. She was born March 5, 1895 in the Town of
Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), the daughter of John and Lena (Nelson) Warner. She
resided on a farm in the Town of Thorp and attended Thorp rural schools. Upon
completion of her schooling she was employed in the Stanley area and also in Eau
Claire until her marriage. Mrs. Decker was employed at the Mason Shoe Co. for
approximately ten years prior to her leave of absence on Nov. 1, 1962.
She was a member of Notre Dame Parish and the Local Boot & Shoe Workers No. 268.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Beatrice (Tobie) Lubs, two sons, Gordon D.
and Marvin J., and one sister, Mrs. A.G. (Rube) Huls, all of Chippewa Falls; a
half-brother, Edward Nelson of Sheldon; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.
