Nathaniel Machel was called to join the National Guards, in
which he had enlisted some time previous.
William Machel left Monday
morning for the West where he has work on barracks for the soldiers.
Mrs.
Chris Feutz was very ill last week, but is rapidly recovering at this writing.
The Sherwood cheesemaker and family were seen on our streets last Friday
evening.
A carload of coal was delivered at our factory this week.
Rev. Mallory will preach at the Union Church Sunday evening.
Ira
Davis is home at present awaiting a call to join the Navy, in which he enlisted.
Beth Squires is spending the week with her mother, Mrs. Machel.
There
was a pleasant surprise at Mr. Arthur Wilding’s Monday night in honor of Miss
Beatrice Lazotte and Ira Davis. An enjoyable time was had by all.
Miss
Mollie Kissling and cousin returned home Monday after spending the last four
weeks with relatives in Illinois.
