Jahr, Mary (27 June 1883-20 Dec 1960)

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for a former resident of Loyal, Mrs. Mary Jahr. Mrs. Jahr, 77, died Tuesday morning, December 20 at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield. The Rev. Virgil Holmes of Neillsville officiated and burial was made in the Windfall cemetery.

The former Mary Schaeffner was born June 27, 1883 in Loyal and received her education in the Loyal Schools. She was married to Oscar jahr on May 19, 1904 and the couple farmed in the town of York. Her husband died October 4, 1946.

Mrs, Jahr is survived by two sons, Earnest, Deerfield, and Wesley, Marshfield; a daughter, Mrs. Halvor (Esther) Eide, Chili; three sisters, Mrs. John lindner, Loyal; Mrs. Emil Lemke, Madison and Mrs. John Young, Stanley; a brother, William Schaeffner, Bonners Ferry, Idaho; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Two brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Those from Loyal who attended the funeral services were Mrs. John Lindner and Wilbur, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Helms and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Noeldner.
