Vetterkind, Charles C. (5 MAR 1911 - 13 MAY 1963)

Charles Carl Vetterkind, 52, passed away Monday, May 13, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, of a heart ailment.

Mr. Vetterkind, the son of the late Ida (Thiel) and Charles Vetterkind Sr., was born March 5, 1911 in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), where he lived all his life and was a farmer. On May 8, 1934 he married Leona Rather at the Lutheran parsonage in Thorp.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 15 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Thorp. Rev. Robert Olson officiated at the two p.m. service and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers were: Edward Bobb, Earl Baehr, Raymond Raether, Rueben Vetterkind, Earl Vetterkind and Roman Letvinuck.

Surviving are his wife Leona, one son Raymond at home; four daughters, Sharon and Sheila at home, (Shirley) Mrs. Joseph Lang, Des Plaines, Ill., (Sandra) Mrs. Lawrence Walteraitis, Thorp; four brothers, Walter and Earl of Island Lake, Elmer and Rueben of Thorp; three sisters, (Elsie) Mrs. Virgil Bobb, Thorp, (Leona) Mrs. Otto Klaar, Island Lake, (Lila) Mrs. Albert Pearsall of Mt. Clemens, Mich., and five grandchildren.
