We were much
pleased to hear from Windfall Corners, come again.
Ed Scharf returned one
day last week from a visit to his aunt at Chetek.
Arlene Welsh visited
last week with Lila Davis
Lena Riedel spent last week Thursday with Mrs.
Al Nonhof.
Allie Root entertained the Country Club last week Thursday
evening.
Mr. Alton is again able to be out of doors, after a several days
illness.
Marjorie and Josephine Pietenpol and Ila La Grander spent Sunday
afternoon with Lucile and Lila Davis.
Chas. Greeler has a new car.
Geo. Lastofka, who enlisted last year with Co. A. at Neillsville and was one
of the reserves, was called to Neillsville Sunday.
Mrs. C.M. Campbell
came up from Neillsville Saturday and stayed until Monday with her daughters.
F.W. Davis has his own horse Mott to drive since late last week.
Mary
Hefty, Martha and Selma Foemmel called at Truman Davis’ Sunday evening.
John Pietenpol’s young folks, Eldred and smith Davis attended the ice cream
social at F.L. Davis’ Saturday evening.
Fred Davis and daughter spent
last week Friday at Neillsville.
Mrs. Elizabeth Fuller spent a few days
last week with her friend Miss Abbie Ide.
Truman Davis tore the porch off
from the front of his house and is making preparations for remodeling the house.
Al Nonhof and family autoed to Marshfield Sunday to see Mrs. Dr. Murphy, who
is a patient at the hospital there.
Mr. and Mrs. Hayden, with the
latter’s sister Mrs. Breese, drove to Chili Tuesday to see the ladies’
step-brother, John Sweet.
A farewell party was given George Lastofka
Tuesday evening.
Mr. Scheeley from Sheboygan visited his cousins at the
Ed Ackerman home this week.
Ella Ackerman spent most of last week with
her sister Mrs. Herman Roehl at Harris Spur.
Wm. Foemmel and family
attended the funeral of the little Wegner and Linster girls, who were drowned at
Neillsville last week Thursday.
Haying is progressing slowly. The hay is
heavy and rain plentiful.
Mr. and Mrs. Whitcomb spent Saturday at Lester
Schafer’s.
