Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 4 at St.
Bernard’s Church, Thorp for George W. Ebben, 89, who passed away July 1st at
Havenet Rest Home, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) of old age. Rev. Father Brockman
officiated at the ten a.m. services and burial was in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Dale Ebben, David Ebben, Claybourne Ebben,
Clifford Ebben, Jack Parker and Erwin Primeau.
Mr. Ebben was born Oct. 3,
1873 in Holland Town, Wis. On Oct. 3, 1900 he married Antonia Verkuilen. They
farmed in the town of Worde, town of Withee, and he lived in the city of Thorp
until 4 years ago when he left to live at the rest home.
Surviving are
four sons, Leo and Roy of Kohler, Lester of Fort Atkinson, Delton of Thorp, two
daughters, Mrs. Frances Primeau of Colby and Mrs. Harold Parker of Owen, four
brothers, Frank and Ned Ebben of Stanley, Albert Ebben of Vanscoy, Saskatchewan,
Canada, Robert Ebben of Appleton, 28 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his wife, on Aug. 12, 1941, two sons, Harvey on
July 19, 1947, Arthur, April 30, 1935; one brother of Saskatchewan, Canada and
one sister, Ana Adams of Eau Claire.
