Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Kass, 102 W. Franklin St., Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis.
celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary, Sunday, June 23.
Rev.
Francis Brockman officiated at the 10:00 High Mass attended by many relatives
and friends. Blessing of the couple immediately followed the mass.
Margaret Haas and Alfred Kass were married June 24, 1913 at St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church by Rev. John Neises. Caroline Kass Burdick, sister of the groom,
and Robert Haas, brother of the bride, who attended the couple, were present at
the celebration.
At 12:00 o’clock a delicious dinner was served to 60
guests. A beautiful 3-tiered wedding cake, decorated with sugar bells and gold
roses, was the centerpiece for the tables, decorated with gold candles and
bouquets of peonies and gold roses.
Miss Marie Kremsreiter decorated the
altar and tables and Mrs. Evelyn Grajkowski was in charge of the dinner. Mrs. E.
Wehlacz was in charge of the reception lunch. The wedding cake was made by Mrs.
Art Hanson, a niece of the honor couple.
Open house was held in the
afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 at St. Bernard’s Hall, with 300 guests attending.
Out of town rleatives and friends were from, : Chicago, Minnesota, Duluth,
Rhinelander, Wauwatosa, Menasha, Chippewa Falls, Milwaukee, Wausau, Neillsville,
Withee, Stratford, Medford, Stanley, Cornell, Spencer, Cadott and Bloomer.
We wish to express our thanks to our relatives, neighbors and friends who
sent cards, gifts and attended our open house or helped in any way to make our
Golden Wedding Anniversary a day we will always remember. -- Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Kass.
