Virjean (14 May 1929-21 Aug 2012)
Virjean M. Brandt, 83, Marshfield,
passed away in the evening on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012 at The House of The Dove,
Marshfield, under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. A memorial service was
held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Rev.
Sue Eidahl officiated. Burial followed in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Vivian M. Bradley was born on May 14, 1929, in the town of Emmett, Marathon
County, the daughter of Harvey and Gertrude (nee Graveen) Bradley. She attended
the rural Washburn School in the town of Emmett and later graduated from
Stratford High School. She married John P. Brandt on June 11, 1949, at Zion
Lutheran Church, Stratford. Together John and Verjean moved to Wausau and then
Washington D.C., later returning to the Stratford area. She was employed as a
bank teller/vault at the former Spencer State Bank but also was engaged in a
crafting business known as Nite Owl Crafts, which she owned and operated. She
also provided mobile home escorts to various destinations with the vehicle
escort business and she and John owned and operated. With all Verjean had going
on, she also found time to volunteer at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield,
teach Sunday school, and provide secretary services at Trinity Lutheran Church
in Unity. She loved her family and enjoyed people. Her hobbies included
crafting, bowling and bingo, watching her two sons race at the dirt track stock
car races, some NASCAR racing, watching the Brewers and Packers, and trips to
Las Vegas and hitting the Penny slots. She loved going to craft sales not
knowing what treasures she might find. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church
in Stratford and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
