Pflughoeft, Hazel (05 Feb 1941-27 Aug 2012)

Hazel J. Pflughoeft, 71, Loyal, formerly of Neillsville, died on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Rev. Patsy Roe will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., on Friday, Aug 31, at the Gesch Funeral Home. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery. Casket bearers will be John Fields, Steve Reising, Les Delo, Kelly Hanson, Larry Buffington and Craig Brandt.

Hazel Jean Schwamb was born on Feb. 5, 1941, in Neillsville, the daughter of Theodore and Frieda (nee Rath) Schwamb. She graduated from Neillsville High School in 1959 and worked as a teller at the First National Bank until 1961. She married Donald Pflughoeft on July 22, 1961. Together they farmed and raised their family. During this time Hazel liked to bowl, cook and spend time with her homemakers group trading recipes. After they retired from the farm in 1995 she liked to spend time with family and friends. She also worked part time in the deli at the Loyal IGA. She was a member of the Loyal United Church and served on the church council. She also loved delivering the Buyer Guide with her husband, going with Donny gambling and watching the Milwaukee Brewers. Hazel and Donald just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party for family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, Loyal; a son, Dale Pflughhoeft, Kronenwetter; a daughter, Lori (Larry) Buffington, Marshfield; and four grandchildren, Kayla Buffington, and Chris, Erin and Hannah Pflughoeft.
