MARJORIE HART (March 4, 1917 - January 22, 2012)

E. Marjorie Hart, age 94, of Northfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the Long Term Care Center of the Northfield Hospital. She was born on Mar. 4, 1917, in New Rockford, ND, the third of ten children born to Harry and Bessie (Schroeder) Nibbe. The family later moved to Humbird WI, where she graduated from Humbird High School in 1935.

On Oct. 23, 1937, she was united in marriage to Vern I. Hart. They were married for 60 years until he preceded her in death in 1998. Vern and Marj had 3 children, Barb, Larry and Gary. Throughout their married life they lived in numerous places but settled in Northfield in 1957.

Marj had many hobbies and interests. She loved to read, especially western stories. She couldn’t wait each week to get the paper to start the crossword puzzle. She was an excellent quilter and could sew just about anything, including many of her own outfits. She absolutely loved to cook and bake, and anxiously waited each spring to plant and tend to her many gardens. Traveling was also a favorite past time, especially if it brought her back to North Dakota, a state she was so proud to be from. Above all though, she loved her family. Marj always looked forward to any event that would bring her family together.

She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield. She was a member of the quilting club, looked forward to attending the ladies bible study, volunteered her time to help assemble the monthly newsletter, and loved volunteering her time at the church library helping with the returned books.

Marjorie is survived by her 2 sons, Gary Hart of Minneapolis and Larry Hart of Florida ; 10 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great-Great Grandchildren, a brother, Marvin Nibbe of Red Wing, 2 sisters, Genevieve Gust of Northfield and Delores Oligney of Black River Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; Vern, her parents, daughter; Barb George and 6 siblings.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday, February 3rd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Northfield with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 1 hour prior to Services at the Church.
