Miss Selma Kuechenmeister is home from Stevens Point since Wednesday.

Miss Esther True of Hatfield was a weekend guests of the E.A. Beeckler family.

Mike Billy and daughter Helen made another trip to Marshfield Saturday to consult Dr. Hipke as to the child’s eye. Indications are now that the eye will not be permanently affects.

Mrs. Lulu Jacobson of Neillsville was a guests of the Misses Marsh and in attendance at the dance here Saturday night.

Mrs. Chas. Thurston and Mr. and Mrs. Noah Davis, all of Iowa, after a several days stay with the W.E. Benedict family on Route 1, went to Marshfield Saturday on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Davis.

Miss Mabel Kirk and Mr. I.G. Emerson of Chicago are here since Sunday visiting relatives of the former in the Geo. Redman family at Birchwood farm on route 4.

Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lyons, Miss Georgia Griffith, Mr. and Mrs. M.O. Potter, Mr. and Mrs. John Woodell and sons Harold and George, and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Otto, all of Grand Rapids, autoed up and spent Sunday with the Byrl Winn family.

Mr. and Mrs. D.C. Van Brunt of Ocean Park, Calif., after a week’s visit with relatives in the S.R. Davis and Myron Osgood homes, continued on their trip by auto to the Atlantic coast last Friday.

Miss Adeline Breseman of Marshfield, returning from a visit to Neillsville friends, stopped off here Saturday and made a weekend visit in this vicinity, leaving for home Monday afternoon.

Ernest Sternitzky went to Chili Monday and spent the afternoon with his daughter, Mrs. Adolph Pusheck, who is recovering from her late illness.

The Mesdames Leonard Cole, Hale Davis, Chas. Wilke, with Miss Myrtle Cole and Master Robert Davis, are autoing to Waupaca today on a visit to relatives and friends at the Chain-O-Lakes.

Mrs. John Wolter and Mrs. Aug. Arndt and son were over from Neillsville on shopping bent on Tuesday.

Mrs. Weeks, her son Edward and daughter Florence, with Richard Kelley, all of Chicago, after a visit with relatives in the Aug. Dufrane home on route 4, returned to the city Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. A. Ure, J.J. Irvine, Mrs. B. Tragsdorf, Mrs. H.J. Brooks, the Misses Ethel Stockwell, Clara Heyder, Mary Kearney and Mary Rude, autoed over from Neillsville and attended the Crandall orchestra dance given for the benefit of the Red Cross on Saturday night.

The work of excavating for the basement of the new schoolhouse building was commenced Tuesday. Architect H.J. Hancock of Eau Claire and surveyor C.S. Stockwell of Neillsville met with the building committee here Monday and staked out the ground.

Mr. O.A. Toptine, who came here from Mink, Montana several months ago on a visit to the George Toptine family on Route 4 and other relatives in this vicinity, leaves yet this week for a short farewell visit with relatives in Richland Center, after which he will continue on to his new home at Peckville, Wyo.
