Miss Amanda Machel came home from Chicago Sunday.

Miss Bertha Barth spent Sunday with relatives at Chili.

Ben Doede and Miss Tena Herman of Sinco went to Marshfield on Saturday.

John Kauth of Route 4 is marketing some especially fine new potatoes.

Miss Jennie Ackerman went to Chili Saturday on a visit to the Herman Roehl family.

Mr. and Mrs. P.J. Kemmeter autoed home from Milwaukee Sunday.

The Misses Hulda and Anita Schoengarth spent Tuesday afternoon with friends at Marshfield.

Miss Stella Davis went to Neillsville Saturday on a several days visit to her brother Harry.

Geo. Wilson shipped a pure bred Holstein calf by express to Bruce on Friday.

Mrs. J.F. Andrus of Bethel spent a couple of days of last week here with Mrs. Rice Davis.

Mrs. Ernest Dixon and baby Donald Rand, are home from their Neillsville visit since Friday night.

Henry Riedel went to Neillsville Saturday evening on a visit to old friends.

Harold Kihn, after a 6 week stay with Mrs. Eva Canfield, went home to Park Falls on Tuesday.

Miss Beulah Klopf of Rathdrum, Idaho, spent last week here with relatives in the H.E. Williams family.

Mr. and Mrs. James Gard, with his father Samuel Gard of Route 4, were Neillsville visitors on Saturday.

M.E. Wilding of Neillsville was here on business on Friday.

Miss Viola Fisher of Chili was here on Friday.

Mrs. E.A. Beecker will entertain the Circle next Wednesday.

Tim King visited the Otis Beardsley family at Niagara last week.

Otto Garbush is home from Park Falls since late last week.

H.A. Qually was a county seat visitor on Monday.

E.A. Beeckler was a county seat visitor on Wednesday.

Miss Meta Parker of Melrose is visiting the Misses Henze since last Saturday.

Mrs. Robert Machel went to Neillsville Wednesday on a visit with old friends.

Dan Rausch and Ernest Dixon autoed to Grand Rapids on business Wednesday.

M. Pizer of route 1 came home Wednesday from a visit to relatives and old friends in Richland County.

Master Carlos Stockwell of Volga, S.D. was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Baer on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Crosby were weekend guests of their son Attorney E.W. Crosby and family in the latter’s cottage down at Dells dam.

Jim Fradette and son George, after helping Herb Fradette with haying, went home to Withee on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Kurth, Miss Elsie Kurth, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Braatz and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Braatz spent Tuesday blue berrying at Prey.

Miss Elizabeth Johnson, after a 6 week visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Johnson and other relatives on route 4, returned to Hinsdale, Ill. on Wednesday.

Mrs. Lorenz Kohl came over from Marshfield Tuesday and visited at Walter Schlinsog’s until the next day, when she and Mrs. Schlinsog went to the county seat on business.

J.H. Muckerheide has sold the Merchants Hotel at Neillsville. One Paul Pernod is the new owner.

Guy Youmans now owns the old T.J. La Flesh farm near the fairgrounds, having traded property at Randorf for same.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Liese and son Harold of Cleveland, Ohio, are here since Monday visiting at Henry Beyer’s.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Guenther of Hokah, Minn. spent the weekend as guests of her brother, Chas. Bladl and family on Route 2.

Hon. and Mrs. S.M. Marsh and son Hallam of San Diego, Calif., were welcomed back on a visit to relatives and old friends in this vicinity last Friday.

Miss Jean Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Furgeson, Mr. and Mrs. F.R. Schlinsog and Oswald Pischer were Neillsville visiotrs on Monday.

A pleasing feature of the Marshfield Fair Aug. 21 - 24 will be the clever performance of the Burtinos, a man and two women in equilibrist wonders. Their act is a marvel of skill.

Louis Martin, a professional ginseng grower of Plymouth, after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Martin at Sheridan, arrived here on a visit to her brother John Martin at Lynn on Monday.

Mrs. John Kiefferlee and her daughter Mrs. Herman Schroeder, both of Fond du Lac, are visiting the former’s brother Louis Plaul and relatives in the Gus Hahm family since Wednesday.

The dance given by the Crandall Orchestra for the benefit of the Red Cross last Saturday evening, was well patronized and proved an especially pleasant social affair, netting the Red Cross a little better than $100.

Miss Julia Keland, a professional nurse, is here from Milwaukee since Wednesday caring for baby Brooks Norman in the Irwin Brooks home at Lynn. The little fellow doesn’t assimilate his food as his anxious mother and other relatives could wish.

Louis Scholtz and Mrs. George Redman and her son, Mater Willie, autoed in from Sherwood Sunday and met Chicago people who arrived that morning on a visit to the Redman’s.

Mrs. Aug. Schmoll will entertain the Ladies Aid of Rev. Reiff’s parish next Wednesday afternoon.

Fred Grassman and daughter Emma spent Saturday with friends at Neillsville.

Mrs. Otto Rohde and son Victor of Spokeville arrived here from Rochester, Minn. on Saturday.

Mrs. Estella Mortimer is home since Wednesday from a two week visit at Glenwood City and Chetek.

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Howard spent Wednesday here at Rob Garbush’s.

Mrs. D.C. Menefee of Eagle River visited at Loyal Jordan’s last week and went home on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Campbell, after a week’s visit with relatives and old neighbors in this vicinity, went home to Marshfield on Saturday.

Rev. Wilson Mallory spent the weekend between Unity and Stanley.

Miss Lida Cannon, after a 10-day visit at Eva Canfield’s, went home to Neillsville Tuesday.

Mrs. Jos Snebeck and baby Esther of Neillsville spent Wednesday afternoon here with friends.

Mrs. Geo. Hart came over from Humbird Friday and took grandma Hart home with her that evening for a several weeks stay and visit.

Miss Emma Dahl came home on Tuesday after a six week visit at Clintonville, Milwaukee, Shawano and other state points.

Mr. and Mrs. Webb Winn are home from Milwaukee, Madison and other state points since Tuesday.

Miss Mary Schune went to Altoona Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at her brother Herman’s.

Mrs. Uhl and daughters, after a visit at Fred Dopp’s, went home to Galesville Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Smith of Neillsville, with Dr. and Mrs. Clark of Eau Claire, attended the dance here Saturday evening.

Mrs. Moses Page of Stanley, who was down last week to attend the funeral of the late Mrs. Lorenz Hales, went home on Friday.

Otto Voigt of Milwaukee, after a week’s visit at his uncle Albert Bentz’s on Route 4, went home to the city on Friday

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Whitcomb vacated the L.G. Morris house Tuesday and moved into the Lester Shafer house.

The Marshfield Fair, Aug. 21 to 24 will open the Central Wis. Fair Circuit, which promises the greatest gathering of horses ever assembled here. Come to the fair and enjoy a hard fought and exciting race meet.
