Hubbard, Ruth (2 NOV 1888 - 9 JUL 1963)

Mrs. Bert W. Hubbard, 74, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley on Tuesday evening, July 9, 1963 after having become seriously ill on Sunday, suffering from a stroke.

She was born Ruth Catt on Nov. 2, 1888 at Durand, Wis.

She married Bert Hubbard on Oct. 5, 1909 and together they lived at Bloomer, Chippewa Falls and Durand before moving to a farm in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1920. Upon retirement in 1957 they moved to Thorp where they have since resided.

Left to mourn her passing are her husband, two sons, Allen and Dean of Thorp, three daughters, (Evelyn) Mrs. Floyd Cook and (Alvera) Mrs. Harvey Boie, Thorp, and (Beryl) Mrs. Marce Wagner of Muskego, Wis.; twenty-five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, one brother, Edd Catt of Stanley and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Wilson of Eau Claire and (Marion) Mrs. Harry Smith of Stanley, Wis.

Mrs. Hubbard was a member of the Thorp Methodist Church and Women’s Society of Christian Services, the Women’s Relief No. 81, the Royal Neighbors of America and a charter member of the Friendly Neighbor Homemakers Club.

Mrs. John Paff, soloist, sang “My God and I” and “At the End of the Road,” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Bill Boardman.

She was laid to rest int eh east Thorp Cemetery. Flower bearers were six granddaughters, Gail Cook, Alice Wagoner, Corinne, Bonnie, Sandra and Donna Hubbard.

Serving as pallbearers were: Richard and Russell Boie, Ronald Wagner, Dennis and Robert Hubbard and Richard Szymanski.

Honorary pallbearers included Chas. Henkins, Robert Broeren, Reed Gibbs, Oscar and Harry Boie and Chas. Frinack.
