W. “Rolie” W. (11 December 1930 -12 August 2012) With Flag
Roland W.
“Rolie” Jenni, 81, of Black River Falls and formerly of Neillsville, died
Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at his home.
Rolie was born Dec. 11, 1930, in
Clyman to Werner and Blanche (Krause) Jenni. He was raised in various places in
Iowa and in Neillsville. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1948, and
he attended UW-River Falls. He married Janet Meredith in Iowa March 1, 1952.
Rolie served in the Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin National Guard.
He owned Jenni Floral in Neillsville from 1964-1976. He and Jan purchased
Falls Floral in Black River Falls from Kenneth and Dorothy Ott in 1979 and
operated the business until 1993. They sold the business to their daughter and
son-in-law, Lisa and Jerry Laatch. They moved to Black River Falls in 1993.
Rolie loved playing golf, living on the Black River, working in his yard and
socializing. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Wisconsin Badger s fan.
Surviving are his son Phil (Jane) Jenni, St. Paul, MN; his daughter, Lisa
(Jerry) Laatch, Black River Falls; two grandchildren, Jesse (Eliza Waters)
Darley and Dusty (D.J.) Mattison, and three great-grandchildren, Ella Darley,
Jasper Darley and Cooper Mattison.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Jan, Oct. 19, 2002; one sister, Lorraine Payne; and nieces, Marsha Hirth and
Tracey Rueth.
Memorial funeral services for Roland M. “Rolie” Jenni I
will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, from the Faith Evangelical Lutheran
Church, CTH A Black River Falls. Pastor Nathan Berg will conduct services, and
burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Black River Falls. Relatives and friends
may call Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, from 3:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Skyline Golf
Course in Black River Falls.
Torgerson’s Funeral Home (715-284-4321) of
Black River Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.
