Smith, Bert Carl (16 March 1935 - 19 August 2012)

Bert C. Smith, 77, of Neillsville died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.

Bert Carl Smith was born March 16, 1935, in Chicago, IL, the son of Bert H. and Ruth (Henricks) Smith. Bert worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad as a yardmaster for 40 years. He was united in marriage to Martha Jane Foster Aug. 13, 1993, in Milwaukee. Bert enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.

He is survived by a son, John (Susan) Smith of Granton; daughters, Debbie Smith of Milwaukee, and Christina Gehrke of Neillsville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Bert is also survived by siblings, Donald (Maggie) Smith of Winter Park, FL, Ronald (Gloria) Smith of Black River Falls, Joan (Jack) Beilaga of Kewaskum, Jim Annoreno, Bonnie (Tony) Sandoval and June Marie (Joe) Mendez, all of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Cynthia Marie Smith.

A graveside service will be held for Bert at 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Dells Dam Cemetery.
