White gladiolas and snowballs were on the altar of St. Hedwig’s Chapel when Miss Mary Ann Gutowski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gutowski, Sr., became the bride of Arthur Soborowicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Soborowicz, Sr., on Saturday, July 27, 1963. Father Edward Masalewicz performed the ten a.m. double ring ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an intermission length gown fashioned in French Rosepoint lace and nylon tulle over celeste satin with fitted bodice, illusion yoke edged in hand clipped scallops of lace, courtly Queen Anne collar and traditional long tapered sleeves. Tiers of misty tulle and gathered lace with hand clipped scallops added bouffant to the skirts. Her English imported fingertip veil of pure silk was attached to a crown of pearls. The bride carried a beautiful bouquet of large red roses set off by al white satin bow.

Miss Shirley Lew, a friend of the bride, was maid of honor, and Misses Rose and Geri Gustowski, sister of the bride, were bridesmaids. The attendants wore lilac, green and yellow floor length gowns respectively, styled with a bateau neckline, fitted bodice, with set in flowers at shoulders and waist. Also at the waist were two tiny bows in front and one large bow in back. The wide circle skirt was of taffeta and net covered with nylon organza. Their headpieces were a veil attached to a large rose accented with pearls.

Miss Kay Schmidt, niece of the bride, was flower girl and was dressed to match the bride, and carried a white basket filled with red tea roses. Jim Schmidt, a nephew of the bride, was ring bearer and he carried a pillow made of white satin and lace.

Ray Soborowicz was his cousin’s best man, and groomsmen were Tony Soborowicz, cousin of the groom, and Larry Moskiewicz, friend of the groom. Ushers were Frank Soborowicz and Church Gutowski, brothers of the bride and groom.

A dinner for 160 guests and a supper for 350 guests were held at the PNA Hall.

The bride’s mother wore a brown printed jersey dress with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore a pink and white sheath dress with white accessories. Both had corsages of red roses.

The bride attended Thorp High School and is an office girl at the Thorp Finance Corp. The groom attended Thorp High School and is a mechanic at Schmidt Chevrolet.

After a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park, the new Mr. and Mrs. Soborowicz will make their home on RR 3, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).
