Paul Handt autoed to Greenwood Monday.
Miss Emma Schune
is home from Milwaukee since last week Thursday.
The Misses Sarah Mae and
Jean Davis spent Tuesday in Neillsville.
Henry Winter unloaded 5 silos
here Wednesday and Thursday.
Mrs. E.A. Beeckler entertained the Circle
and a few friends Wednesday.
A.J. Knorr was at Wausau on business
Wednesday.
Albert Viergutz was at Marshfield on business on Wednesday.
Glen hart is working for Jahr Bros. since Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Rice
Davis were blue berrying at Hewettville Monday enroute home from Humbird.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anding and son Verland, after a visit at Phil
Breseman’s, went home on Tuesday.
Albert Mantey is making frequent trips
to Marshfield to visit his son in the hospital there this week.

Schmoll entertained the Ladies Aid of Rev. Reiff’s Parish with a number of
outside friends on Wednesday.
Douglas and Lamont MacBride spent Wednesday
with relatives at Neillsville.
Timothy Kin returned home from a two week
visit with the Otis Beardsley family at Norway on Wednesday.
The Circle
will meet with Mrs. Willis Williams Wednesday, Aug. 15 next.
Miss Ora
Marsh spent Sunday at Marshfield.
Ben Strey went to Marshfield Tuesday.
Frank Tompkins is on a piano tuning trip in Jackson County.
Station
agent E.W. Crandall and family are vacating the Reichert house next week and
moving into the Levi Morris house, better known as the Chas. Beeckler house.
A railway carpenter crew has been here the past week repairing their
sidewalks, bridges, stock yards, etc.. They have their boarding and sleeping
cars here on the siding.
Arthur Neinas, Hale Davis, Perry Thayer, Leonard
Cole and Chas. Wilke, in the Neinas car, autoed to Waupaca Sunday morning and
spent the day with their best girls.
Will Treichler and Reinhold
Rauschenberger of Milwaukee autoed up Wednesday on a visit to the Braatz and
Will Kurth families.
Mrs. Annie Mundt and daughter Viorene of Chili came
over Wednesday and spent the day with the Fred Dopp family.
H. Farley of
Abbotsford was here on business Wednesday morning and continued on to
Neillsville that noon.
Miss Josephine Thayer is assisting with the work
at the store since Monday, and her father’s absence superintending the
construction work on his new building.
Mrs. Gus Hagen visited Neillsville
relatives the first of the week.
Mrs. Lillis Converse spent Sunday with
relatives and friends at Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. King autoed to La
Valle Saturday night on a visit to her folks.
Miss Alfrieda Williams is
enjoying a two week vacation from her duties at the H.C. Witte Store.
Rev. Crow of this village and Rev. Coleman of Neillsville exchanged pulpits
Sunday evening.
Miss Florence Moore of Ogdensburg is here, a guest of her
sister Mrs. Leonard Cole since Tuesday.
Homer Spry and family have rented
and moved into the Dr. Rath house on the north side of the village.
Miss
Julia Rathke of Grand Rapids came Saturday and visited the John Trimberger
family over Sunday.
Rev. Reiff and family and Miss Amanda Lange autoed to
Wausau on Tuesday.
Crandall’s Orchestra will give a dance at Chili next
week Saturday, Aug. 11th.
Mrs. Kops of Unity, after a several weeks visit
at Arthur Kurth’s, went home last week Thursday.
Little Nellie Johnson is
recovering very nicely from the painful abscess affecting her are two weeks ago.
Mrs. Michael Grasser and daughter Mary spent yesterday with friends at
Marshfield.
Mrs. L.A. Chandler and daughter Miss Ada, after a several
weeks visit at L. Stevens’, went home to Milwaukee Saturday.
Miss Meta
Parker of Melrose, after a ten day visit with the Misses Lucile and Neva Henze,
went home to Melrose on Tuesday.
Milton Johnson resigned his position at
the Jahr Bros. store last Saturday, in preparation for moving to Lynn with his
parents.
W.D. Rose returned home Wednesday morning from a several days
business trip to Plymouth, Oshkosh and New Holstein.
Mrs. John Pietenpol
and daughter Ruth, and Lucile Davis left for Babb, Montana today on a visit to
the former’s brother, Louis Davis.
Mrs. Dave Williams drove over from
Neillsville Tuesday and spent the day with her daughter, Mrs. E.W. Crandall.
Guerney Sweet, after a visit with relatives and friends here, returned to
Chili on Wednesday.
Mrs. Reuter and daughter Elizabeth Rose, after a two
week visit at Lew Smith’s, went home to Madison on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs.
Ole Johnson of Marshfield, after a several days visit at the S. Rounseville’s,
went home Wednesday.
The Fred hart, G.E. Amidon and Chas. Neinas families
autoed to Chippewa Falls on a picnic trip on Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Gerber, their son Leland and daughter Natalie are leaving on an auto trip to
Sheboygan County yet this week.
