Miller, Mr./Mrs. Joe (Gold - 10 SEP 1963)

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Miller observed their golden wedding anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 15th. The day’s festivities began with the couple, their children and their families attending the church at the Stanley Church of the Brethren.

A dinner was served at noon in the church parlors to the Millers, their children, 25 of their 30 grandchildren, Mrs. Emma Musselman of Kendallville, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Matthiesen of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Musselman and children of Manlius, Ill.

A program was presented in their honor in the church parlors at 2:30 p.m., followed by a reception for family and friends.

Gold bells were used in decoration and the centerpiece was a beautiful three tiered wedding cake and a gold family tree.

Mrs. Miller wore a navy print dress with black accessories and a corsage of yellow mums. Mr. Miller wore a dark suit with a yellow mum boutonniere.

Irene Musselman and Joe Miller were united in marriage Sept. 10, 1913 at Olatke, Kansas. They made their home at Paolo, Kansas for five years, then moved to Wisconsin in the town of Worden (Clark Co., Wis.), where they have since resided.

They had 8 children, Mable (Mrs. Arnt Ricksford), Chippewa Falls, Ray, Paolo, Kansas, Donald of Stanley, Pearl (Mrs. Cecil Hanson) of Chippewa Falls, Evelyn (Mrs. Lawrence Henke) of Owen, Ferne, a twin (Mrs. Wilfred Shilts) of Boyd, Vernon, a twin, deceased, and June of Chicago. There are 30 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
