Rahn, John (1887 - 21 SEP 1963)
John Rahn, 76, a
former resident of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at Owen on Saturday,
Sept. 21, 1963. He had been in ill health for the past two years.
Mr.
Rahn, who lived in Thorp for a number of years and worked in this vicinity as a
stone mason, was born in 1887 at Curtiss, Wis. He was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by a son, Clifford Rahn of Milwaukee, a brother Charles,
Curtiss, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a
brother and sister.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Beryl
Knudsen, pastor of Nazareth Lutheran Church of Withee, at the Hoeper & Kraut
Funeral Home at Owen on Sept. 23. Military rites were conferred at the grave by
Cecil Tormey Post No. 118, American Legion of Thorp, of which the deceased was a
member, with a salute by the firing squad and the sounding of taps. Burial was
made in Pine Hill Cemetery north of Curtiss.
