Soeller, Mr./Mrs. Leonard (Silver - 25 OCT 1963)
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Soeller observed their silver wedding on Sunday, Oct.
27th.
The day began by attending mass at St. Anne’s Catholic Church,
where the former Bernice May and Leonard Soeller were united in marriage on Oct.
25th, 1938, by the Rev. Paul Pitzenberger. The bride of 25 years wore a beige
velvet two piece dress with brown accessories and a corsage of red garnet roses.
The groom, attired in a dark suit had a silver carnation boutonniere pinned to
his lapel. Their attendants of twenty five years were the groom’s sister,
Bernadine (Mrs. Irvin Benzschawel), attired in blue with a yellow white mum
corsage. Geraldine Jasper, now Mrs. Leonard Berg of Plain, cousin of the bride,
wore a green dress with a yellow and white mum corsage. Miss Arvilla Anderson,
Charles Sueterland of Jacksonville, Fla., was also a bridesmaid, unable to
attend. Assistants to the groom were his cousins, Imbert Esbngir of Middleton
and Robert Soeller of Thorp, each with a yellow mum boutonniere. The flower
girl, Alice Wellner, now Sister Mary Grace of Wausau, also was unable to attend.
Ring bearer was John Knar Jr., who also had a yellow mum boutonniere. Miss
Gloria Schmoeller of Chicago has charge of the guest book. Dinner was served to
over forty relatives and friends at the Badger Inn where also a cafeteria supper
was served to over 165 relatives and entertainment for the afternoon was
furnished by Jean Soeller and Rodney Roytek with their accordions. Mrs. Arthur
Samuelson presented Mrs. Soeller with a beautiful necklace and earrings in
silver from the County Line Women’s Club, of which she is a member.
Beautiful garden flowers adorned the tables and silver streamers and belts were
also used in the decorations.
The beautiful three tier wedding cake was
baked by Mrs. Neill Shorey, friend of the family. Out of town guests were
present from Prospect Heights., Ill., Plain, Wis., Middleton, Bloomer, Chippewa
Falls, Chetek, St. Paul, Holcombe, Marathon, Owen, Kenosha, Greenwood, Green
Bay, Campbellsport, Cadott and Boyd.
Mr. and Mrs. Soeller have lived on a
farm near Stanley for the past 24 years.
