Gillespie, Mary Ann (24 AUG 1963)

Miss Mary Ann Gillespie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Gillespie, Cambridge, Mass., became the bride of Walter G. Wartolec, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Wartolec, Stanley, Wis., on Saturday, Aug. 24, 1963 at St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Cambridge, Mass., with the Rev. James DeAdder performing the ceremony.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length silk organza gown with Venetian lace trim and chapel train. She wore a bouffant veil of silk illusion lace and carried a cascade of white orchids and ivy.

Miss Margaret J. Gillespie attended the bride, wearing a full length gown. Her headpiece of blue flowers featured a short blue veil of silk illusion and she carried a bouquet of blue and white mums.

Donald Peskie of Washington, D.C. was best man and usher was Raymond Burbine of Noank, Conn.

A reception was held at the Hotel Sheraton-Commander at Cambridge, Mass.

The bride’s mother wore a turquoise jacket dress with matching velvet hat and the groom’s mother wore a flowered silk jersey dress with white hat.

The bride is a graduate of Emmanuel College, Boston, Mass., and St. Louis University. The groom graduated from Eau Claire College and University of Wis. Graduate School.

After a wedding trip to Cape Cod, Mass. and New York City, they will make their home at Madison.
