Virjean was born on May 14, 1929, in
the town of Emmett, Marathon County, the daughter of the late Harvey and
Gertrude (Graveen) Bradley. She attended the rural Washburn School in the town
of Emmett later graduating from Stratford High School.

united in marriage to John P. Brandt on June 11, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church
in Stratford. Together John and Virjean moved to Wausau later Washington, DC,

teller at the former Spencer State Bank but also was engaged in a crafting
business known as Nite Owl Crafts which she owned and operated and provided
mobile home escorts to various destinations with the vehicle escort business her
and John owned and operated. With all Virjean had going on, she also found time
to volunteer at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, teach Sunday school and
provide secretary services at Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity.
She loved
her family and enjoyed people. Her hobbies included crafting, bowling and bingo,
watching her two sons’ race at the dirt track stock car races, some NASCAR
racing, watching the Brewers and Packers and trips to Las Vegas and hitting the
penny slots. Virjean loved going to craft sales not knowing what treasures she
may find.
