Everson, Elaine Mae
(Krakenberger) (1921? - 3 JUL 2012)
Elaine Mae (Krakenberger) Everson
passed away peacefully in her home on July 3, 2012, at the age of 91.
She
was born in Dorchester, and lived her married life in Merrill, with her husband,
Robert Warren Everson.
She resided in Valencia, Calif., for the past 30
years near to her daughter, Bobbi Burrows and family. Elaine’s parents, Raymond
and Leona Krakenberger, and sister, Echo Mertens Anderson are all deceased.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Bruce Burrows and her two
grandchildren, Carl McLaughlin and Savannah Burrows. Elaine has a cousin, Dan
Martin, living in Surry, Maine; one niece, Cindy Robotka; and four nephews,
John, Greg, Jeff and Kurt Mertens all residing with their families in Wisconsin.
Her Godchild, Jay Mertens also lives with his family in Milwaukee.
Elaine
was a quiet and shy woman but with strength far surpassing most of us. Fighting
her way from a three pound infant into an absolutely gorgeous woman, inside and
out. The difficulties of illness would never stop her from pushing forward and
surviving whatever was in her way. She loved to be with her family, giggle and
enjoyed the outdoors. In her early years she was a model and worked for the
Boston Store in Milwaukee.
She also was employed as a bookkeeper in
Medford, and the proprietor of Elaine’s Style Shop in Merrill. She enjoyed most
of her life as a mother, and housewife with her husband, Bob (better known as
“Stick”) Everson, part owner of Trantows Building Center, in Merrill.
She loved animals, such as her very own pot bellied pig when she was little and
her dog “Dempsey”, a feisty boxer. Elaine spent most of her life enjoying the
outdoors. An avid hunter and fly-fisher, it was hard to keep her away from the
woods or the water! Her daughter and grandchildren were her true pride and joy.
She loved to watch them all perform, as they are all active in music and the
arts. A more proud Grandma there never was. Elaine’s family will miss her
terribly and yet we are assured she is with the Lord and those that have passed
before her.
