Ruth A. Rasmussen, 92, Marshfield, died on
Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Marshfield Care Center with her family by her side
and under the tender care of the staff at Marshfield Care Center and Ministry
Home Care Hospice. She had been a resident there for the past 4 ½ years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 27, 2012 at
Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Robert Lesher officiating. Burial
will take place in Hillside Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be
grandchildren, Allan Nikolai, Brent Rasmussen, Kevin Strebe, Tom Baumer, Krista
Rasmussen, and Shawn Schultz. The visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 am
until service time at Faith Lutheran Church. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the
family.
Ruth was born on January 29, 1920 in Curtis, the daughter of
Otto and Mabel (Johnson) Kind and attended Greenwood High School. She was united
in marriage to Raymond E. Rasmussen on July 6, 1938 in Greenwood. He died on
January 26, 2005.
After their marriage the Rasmussen's farmed in
Greenwood for 10 years until moving to Marshfield. Ruth was a devoted homemaker
and enjoyed her family and cooking. She always had cookies or a special treat
for anyone who came to visit. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting.
She is survived by 4 daughters and 2 sons, Penny (Don) Nikolai, Dennis (Bonnie)
Rasmussen, all of Marshfield, Bonnie Rasmussen of Minneapolis, Glen (Sue)
Rasmussen of Castle Rock, Colorado, Linda (Rick Hegland) Schultz and Jean
Rasmussen, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 22
great grandchildren. She is further survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters,
Orlando Kind of Greenwood, Donna Mae Hium of Eau Claire, Darlene Speich of
Rosco, IL, and Otto (Pat) Kind, Jr. of Greenwood.
She was predeceased by
her parents, her husband, a daughter, Karen Nekola, 2 grandsons, Eddie
Rasmussen, and Brian Baumer and a brother, Vernon Kind.
In lieu of
flowers memorials may be designated in Ruth's name to the Marshfield Care Center
or Faith Lutheran Church.
