Lewis, Andrew (14 Oct 1887-08 Feb 1961)

Rev. Paul Doering officiated at the funeral services Saturday afternoon for Andrew Lewis, 73, who died Wednesday morning Feb. 8 at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Mrs. G. W. Nelson and Mrs. Paul Doering sang “In the Garden” and “Are You Able, Said the Master”. They were accompanied by Mrs. Byron Zepplin at the organ. Pallbearers were James White, Herb White, Glen Doering, Achilles Ampe, Archie Smith and John Habhegger.

Mr. Lewis was born on October 14, 1887 in the town of Eagle, Richland County and received his education there. His parents were Mark Lewis and Mary Jane Huston Lewis. On May 8, 1912 he was married to the former Elva Catlin. They farmed in Richland County for five years before moving to a farm half a mile south of Loyal. In June of 1950 they moved into the city of Loyal. For the past thirty years he has also been engaged in the building and moving business and he was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church.

Merrill; Mrs. Manilla Catlin, Wisconsin Rapids; Harvey Catlin, Moline, Illinois.
