The Colby High School graduating class of 1967 held their calls reunion on Saturday, September 1, at Allison’s Steakhouse in Abbotsford.

On Friday night, 20 classmates and guests attended an informal get together at Allison’s also. On Saturday evening, 43 classmates and guests attended the dinner and reunion.

Attending were Judy (Allar) and Russ Palmerton, Abbotsford; Bonnie Lynn, River Falls; Eugene and Kristel Bartnik, Dorchester; Dale and Gina Bauer, Mazomanie; John and Sue Becker, Pittsville; Alice (Beyerl) and Bruce Sturzl, Laona; Judy Block, Spencer; Steve and Karen Brown, Unity; Ken Cole, Marathon; Glenna (Cloud) Burk, Madison; Ervin (Cheryl Hamilton) Ellenbecker, Wisconsin Rapids; Galen and Diane Fitzel, St. Paul, MN; Alan and Mary Griepentrog, Abbotsford; Gary and Sue Halopka, Dorchester; Kathy (Lamont) and Jim Harris, Lone Rock; Peter and Susie Jecevicus, Colby; Ruth (Kaiser) and Bob Blume, Colby; Roger Krueger, Merrimac; Susie (Loos) and Terry Schilling, Abbotsford; Lilli (Neuman) and Tom Weis, Unity; Dean Podevels, Reedsburg; Gail (Reineking) Jaeger, Marathon; Kathy (Smith) Thorne, Milwaukee; Linda (Sommer) and Dale Krebsbach, Mosinee; Eileen (Weller) and Russ Dahl, Colby; and Carol (Frome) Domkoski, Neenah.

Leslie and Karen Miller, Spencer, stopped in after dinner to visit with classmates.

The emcee for the evening was former class president, Dean Podevels. Invocation before dinner was led by John Becker.

All military classmates and/or spouses stood up and mentioned the branch of service, years in the military and where they were stationed. These individuals were honored with a standing ovation from the rest of the group.

Two deceased classmates, Gerald Sterzinger and Lyle Underwood, were also recognized as serving in the military.

The class of 1967 has lost 12 classmates. The deceased names were read and a moment of silence was held in the memory of Cheryl Baehler, Galen Beisner, Ron Cook, Clyde Dallman, Darrel Krebsbach, Steve Miller, Bonita (Plockelman) Ervin, Gerald Sterzinger, Barb (Stoiber) Racine, Donald Theilig, Lyle Underwood and Nancy Willner.

Committee member for this reunion were John and sue Becker, Susie and Terry Schilling, Gail Jaeger and Ruth and bob Blume. Additional committee members for the next get together are Alice Sturzl and Galen Fitzel.

Basket raffle winners were Diane Fitzel (wine and cheese variety basket) and Susie Schilling (Wisconsin Badger goodie basket).

Door prizes were given to Roger Krueger, Judy Block, Cheryl Hamilton and Sue Becker.

After a brief meeting, the attendees voted to have a 65th birthday party Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Dorchester Park. The class will also have a 50th reunion in 2017 with the time and place to be set at a later date.
